That bastion of left wing loony politics Karen Andrews has now requested that Scamo be removed from parliament as it has now been revealed that he was secretely sworn in to 5 ministers portfolios including hers.Apparently the treasurers portfolio was also one he was sworn into and as ex treasurer Freudenstein has declared he was totally unaware or advised of it.No wonder Scamo was completely against ICAC except for one which gave pollies immunity.

I think I better give you an education in regard to people and life in general Earl,you and others are quick to assault my opinion on this particular matter...
I have worked in the hospitality industry for 45 years,over that time I have seen what alcohol does to people and how they change...I have saved many a young lady from being in the situation of being taken advantage of because they were drunk,kissing blokes,getting drinks from them for free and then were to scared to go home or outside the hotel in fear...I kept them in the hotel until myself and security locked up,I then got them taxis home...
Do I know what could have happened if I hadnt shown concern,could she have been raped,bashed or otherwise ?
So please dont insult my intelligence because I have seen first hand what could happen..This particular young lady about 19/20 was dressed in a very short dress,highheels and very attractive(some people even said she looked slutty)so who is to blame?I will answer that for you,all of us have to be held accountable for OUR own actions,otherwise anything could and does happen with regret...
Hope this short response lets you know what sort of a person Iam Earl,and my opinion is based on what I have lived through,I also feel very sorry for ladies that do get raped,but I cant see that violence through an overruling of a case will help matters,this is sensitive and should be completely left to the victim and family to deal with in a manner that helps all round....

Geez Zig, I don’t doubt that you would look after a person that was vulnerable to abuse, but still trying to fathom how you can be that person, yet the Hyde part of you cites a "particular young lady" who through no fault of her own is "very attractive" and then pose the question "so who is to blame?" if she was raped.

There is no question as to who is at fault. Only ever the perpetrator and 100% at that.

Seems that you or a mod may have deleted one/some of your earlier posts, though I suggest that you read back that which you have written on this subject, because it certainly doesn't read well.

Not much needed to say about the difference between the current government and the last.

Even a cursory glance at the ministerial decisions, diplomacy, or the legislation put forward and/or passed respectively in their last/first parliamentary sittings, spells it out abundantly.

Really impressed with Dr Monique Ryan thus far and looking forward to the contribution of her and others, as part of a collaboration of representatives/government that continues to prioritise its people.

Governor General - has he compromised the position? When will Governments learn that just because you are a former high ranking ADF Officer, it will not make you a good Governor-General. Quentin Bryce was an excellent choice and Marie Bashir for NSW Governor. Act Albanese and remove him.

Gonna come in to bat for the GG. It wasn’t his fault. He was only following the orders of the Govt of the day.

I’ve met him a few times and him; his wife and his Aide de Camp are nothing short of amazing ppl. He takes his time and has a chat with literally everyone and plays with kids ; poses for photos etc.

Edit- GG has an amazing speech writer too

GC failed miserably. It is unprecedented for the Prime Minister to be sworn to a ministerial post concurrently with there being a minister exercising the relevant powers. The GC should have sought advice on the legality of what was proposed from the apolitical Solicitor General and making that advice public. He should also have written advice from Scomo and had that advice made public. Really, imo his actions were not of the standard we require of the GC and he should resign.

I met the GG and his wife once too, but I think he is just as culpable as Scotty on this one.

One of his last statements said that he expected PMC to announce the changes.

This is 100% BS. He let it happen five times (that we know of).

Morrison effectively ran his own dictatorship using a sneaky legal loophole and the GG stood by and let it happen.

There is overwhelming public sentiment in favour of this RC besides being an election promise. A human tragedy that had serious consequences for its victims who were the most vulnerable members of Aust society. Only the rabid right would oppose this RC.
