Isaiah Papali’i #265

Of course you do realize that there is only a very remote chance that he would ever consider returning here, but assuming that he did, it would only be a matter of time before this forum went into melt down and Mat Lodge would be known as Fat Bludge.
Nickname made me LOL 😂

He obviously has committed missed 8 tackles the other day. Will fit right in.
Interestingly, since moving to Bears/ Chooks, Gildart’s defence has been outstanding. Missed only 1 tackle in 3 games. Also scored 5 tries.
Showed plenty of pace, coming from a long way to run down Cody Walker in the last few minutes.
It’s almost a given that players improve by going to another team, but what happens when they return?

It's well known our facilities have been the worst in the comp by a mile, this is why the COE is bloody important. People blow smoke up it but having a top line training facility will provide benefits over the next few years. Let's hope we have the performance staff who can use it well.

But also our squad comparing it to the Roosters is not even competitive for a reason. They have great inside & middle forwards and the best fullback in the game who organises the defence brilliantly. That alone reduces the flow of the opposition attacks on the edges reducing the opportunities for outside backs to make disjointed decisions or be in 1-1+ situations. The Roosters attack defence in packs all the time.

They have 3 absolute superstars in Tedesco, Crichton and Manu plus they have two upcoming stars in Walker and Sualli. They also have Keary who is a really good player.

Then they have middle forwards like JWH, Lodge and Taukeiaho.

To add to that they have Gildart off the bench.

No he didn’t….
He was probably their best middle forward at the time…
I don’t recall that. If he was one of the Warriors best seems odd he’d sign at Parra for a pittance doesn’t it?

He didn't get cut
Sorry for the choice of words, not resigned. As I just said in my earlier reply he was picked up by Parra on a really low contract and from memory the press made a big deal about the lifeline Parra threw him so not sure the Warriors fought to keep him

There was talk about how canny Eels were to pick him up for $150k.

There was some off field indiscretion wasn't there or a falling out with the management with lodge? Warriors are carrying most of his salary as they paid him out. It was all a bit weird if I recall.

I agree, the facilities are extremely important to performance outcomes, second only to a cohesive organisational structure where everyone knows their job and it’s impact on other team members as well as contribution to those desirable outcomes.
Many of us seem to think that we need a better team to be more successful?
While this may be true, I tend to believe that a better team is the reward of a best practice organisation.
Other clubs seem to care more about getting things right.

No Way .... How else are we getting out of this if we give in..
We all complain we cannot attract quality players and when we do you are saying he should be asking to get out before he even gets here..
Some of us on here are worse then management

Ah - my bad… but thought Lodge was the player you’re talking of, I’m guessing it’s Isaiah

Punt the dud
“Punt the dud” Pascoe ,or the board,is not happening, at least in the short term, so can we try and move on from throwing it out there, to something more relevant.
Not denying your comments or whether that’s the answer, it may well be, just that it’s a subject we have no control over, so why waste time speculating or suggesting it.

Each to their own. Punt the dud.

How good is this.... Papali'i tops the hard earned index and Offa came 4th for the year. Awesome work boys!
