Players union has stepped in twice before re moses and matterson. We have history with the Eels screwing us.It's not just about us, if the NRL were to allow paps to back out of this deal it creates a situation where players can sign a contract as a negotiation tactic. Sign a contract with a new club and use that as leverage to get a better deal at your current club.
It also allows players to sign a contract as insurance against injury or poor form. If your form improves or your current club finds more money renege and sign with them after guaranteeing your salary with your backup contract.
My point is the Nrl will do what's best for the Nrl.
The onus is on us to to enforce the contract.
Sick of losing a player but receiving a financial compense.
[This word has been automatically removed] that, we need to put our foot down for once.
