Fa'amanu Brown

Is he signed up , didn’t like the sound of ( where ever that may be ). This guy is well worth keeping he was very good , better than , Madden , Liddle , Simpkins , that’s for sure

He wants too much coin
we are better persisting with Simpkin and playing Hastings at 13 interchanging with talau or something rather than paying overs for Brown
Good clubs do not pay overs for the likes of Brown

He seems like a good club guy but I've got a feeling that JH will play lock and will try to to play the whole game which will squeeze him out as a utility.
He's not as good as say a Brandon Smith who can come on when the forwards are tired and cause havoc.
Id like to see another full preseason and a year of footy before offering his a good contract. We are not short of Hookers now and if Simo and Rua Ngatikaura are the cheaper option that's the path I'd be going.
If Brown can keep his asking price down and performs then things change. I agree about money, it's all about money.

There's really not much room for him. We currently have 3 hookers contracts for next season. He did ok in an exceptionally poor team. That's not saying much. Give him a train and trial, if he gets a better offer he can take it

If Hastings is playing that Middle Role, He would be back up for Hastings / Bench Utility for mine...
He can play 6, 9, 13 and centre at a Pinch I'd imagine...
Fairly versatile - Outside Peachey (Who's on the way out they say)
We don't have a player that can do what he can do...

Rua? Cheaper. I havent seen much of his running/passing game though.

think Rua might be able to play that role cheaper and potentially better than Brown
The more we save there the more we can put towards other much needed spots as you said

How much is he asking?
I think is is very valuable to a balanced roster.
If Brooks goes I don't think we can afford to lose him. I really like his versatility and his performances last year, considering his time away from first grade, were very good.
With a full preseason under his belt he will be very useful over the course of a season.

Very much a hooker / lock - But has talent...
And work ethic for sure...

Can't really see him anywhere else though, Nu has played a lot of 6 in his time and also a bit better build overall for a utility.

I'm not going to fault him at all for wanting more cash, his injury history and how he has come back to the NRL is a great story. He has missed out on many a year of income.

Hope he stays but if a club is going to pay him well then good luck to him.

He is the exact type of player a squad roster needs, can cover most positions easily.

I agree he is a good squad player to have.
I am not going to fault any player for getting whatever money they can it is a 10 year career at best.
It will be based on money, we can't be paying overs for Brown, that is the type of signing that hurts us on the cap. If he can get more cash the all the best

He is a keeper no doubt , good work ethic , seems smart , player you want around your younger guys to show them the way

All of us are talking about him wanting more cash. Has this been confirmed. Did Pom say it?
