One home ground

People would get behind it if we were winning our share of games and it would become a genuine home. You can’t judge attendance when we’re not competitive.
Its not just that though. This year at CS it was just over 7000 and 9000 in both games we played there. At LO despite our season we had 13000, 15000 and 10000 in our 3 games there. If LO can still get that many people despite coming last its not gonna make the club decide to move out to CS when we don’t get 10000 fans to go when they do play there. If CS got close to max capacity each time we played there then it would be possible for them to move that way but the numbers won’t help them when they are that low.

The club will be splitting games between the traditional home grounds in 2024.
That’s if LO gets the upgrades it needs. Otherwise we’ll be playing at a big stadium and only play 2-3 games at CS each year.

the Manly game at CS was a poor crowd for a Sunday 2pm game with ph Monday.

I forgot about that game but it was just over 10000 fans. Not really a great number for that one. It probably got that high since it was another Sydney team we faced while the other 2 were outside Sydney clubs.

I had tickets to some of those games and watched them from my living room. Build a successful team (and a genuine home ground is a huge part of that) and they ‘we’ will come.

Yes currently Leichhardt gets better numbers currently but that’s probably part romance, part the opposition we play there and part because it’s a bit of a unique experience. A gimmick.

Even better than a gimmick would be going out to watch a good football team play in front of a hostile home crowd at a modern venue. Lots of work to do to get to that point.

I think the club has lost the fans out there. They deserted them

Didn't they tell you a while ago they wanted one home ground?
The plan was for a reduction in grounds, one ground was a possibility but they have decided to focus on the traditional grounds. I don't know if it will be an even split but games will be split between the traditional grounds in 24.

Cheers Cochise. It's just a fallback to the year 2000.
Can they really call it a stadium strategy if it doesnt involve a stadium? Or a strategy...

Good, playing at Parramatta Stadium was another famously idiotic decision.

Both LO and CS need upgrading but CS would be the only place to build a proper home LO has too much sentimental value for it to happen there. The stadium itself at CS is not the worse place close to the train station can get parking etc that is one advantage it has over LO but yet despite the problems LO has it gets more fans. Now sure there’s probably the romance thing behind as you said but either way the attendance at CS in the current state is not gonna make the club decide to do that because if they aren’t even getting 10000 fans now or close to max capacity how will they know for sure to build a home ground there to get fans to come? Unless the attendance goes up it’ll be too much of a risk.

This club needs a vision not reactive decision after reactive decision designed for a quick $. How about a doco lol
