Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I think the current management dont understand the level of Hurt and Anger that Arron Woods gave us fans.

Our then captain left us for the dogs.

I will be very very disappointed if Woods is back at our club in any capacity.

Management at our club has probably been divorced from reality for decades and there is little likelyhood of change for at least another 5 years imho

How silly would it be though.

If we get Klemmer and Joffa we have 60min+ props.
Stefano is a 40min+ prop
Add Twal who can play 80mins
Joffa and Twal could play other forward roles at a pinch (not fulltime but in a game situation)

Fafa in 15-20mins spurts would offer more than Woods from the bench impact wise.

I think often people just look at a name rather than the dynamics of how they would fit into the team rotations.
Joffa is not a 60 min prop. He's a 40-50 min prop, more than that and he gets tired and misses tackles.
You Realistically can't have Joffa and Twal on the field at the same time as they're too similar. Slow, one dimensional, not powerful runners, workhorses. You need punch to go with the workers.
Klemmer is a more punchy worker too. Having Klemmer, Joffa and Twal on at the same time would be suicide for our attack.

Woods is the same as the above. Slow and lacking impact. Fifita can at least offload, find his front and get a quick play the ball and still make his tackles.

Sheens views Hastings as a 13.

He appears to have viewed Hastings as a 13 up until this point. He might change his mind or the roster might change his mind.

Let's see how it plays out. If we get Staines maybe Laurie goes to 7 and Hastings is at 13.

I think whatever the case Hastings is going to be organizing us in the middle. His role won't change that much.

In some ways it's the wrong question. The question is do we play with an extra forward or an extra running 6 ?

Have you watched much of Faagutu is all the hype real or is he just bigger than the other kids ?
The thing is he's not bigger than the other kids, if anything he's smaller than many other forwards. He's got the running style of Taumololo, ie nuggety with huge powerful legs that make it hard to take him down, but he's also got a bit more of a step and line breaking ability too. It's his footwork, tenacity and intelligence that makes him a good player.

Not sure if he'll ultimately stay a lock for us, think Matamua has far more ball skills. Think Chris may end up in the second row...
