100% Brooks at best is worth no more than 300K. Any higher than that he would be lucky to be paid that much at another club.

Maybe in your dreams he is a 300k player or less. He will sign a deal double that with comfort be it with another team or us.

So why do you keep saying that Hastings is going to be Knights bound? Unless you are basing that off hope.

Hastings has said before he wants to play 7 preferably. I do not think Sheens sees him as a 7
The only clubs in 2024 who need 7's are Newcastle dogs parramatta (if moses) leaves.
If Hastings has gone to u k. to play he can likely go 90 minutes up the freeway to Newcastle if he wants to play 7 and they pay him the money he wants.

with a good coach he is a pretty decent 7 he has proven that in the past with cleary. Sheens will get the best out of Brooks if he stays, if he doesn't good luck to him if he goes to Newcastle

agree does look likely, I am wondering if they are looking to sign in 2024 and beyond to get a release earlier. If it doesn't happen then who knows they may look at someone else as O'Brien really needs someone in 2023 or he is shot.

Part of me thinks it might be to rattle Sheens cage and get wests tigers to make an offer to keep him early who knows

you kind of hope if Sheens does want him post 2023 then his management is will ing to take the 900k for 2023 and extend it over the next 2 or 3 years to balance out the cap and deal

To put things into perspective the cap increases now averages 30 man squad salary at $366k per spot. Zero chance he gets 500k or lower in his next contract.

I’m not saying he will sign with us, hope he doesn’t. I think he needs a change of scenery & we need a change as well.

We also need to be very careful around next steps because right now we have zero of our half & fullback options signed past 23.

He was spotted there with a real estate agent looking at houses with his partner. Unless he was retired, I doubt he would be looking at places outside Sydney to be moving too to continue his footy career.

I wouldn’t pay him 300K but the club will go beyond that. I’m sure they are working things out elsewhere for the other areas but Brooks right now seems to be the big one. I agree we need a change and I do wish him luck if he is going to Knights but he hasn’t gone to that level where we need him to be. It just simply hasn’t worked out.

Depends on our cap situation for 23.
It may make alot more sense to absorb a heap in 23 over spreading across.
