Depends on who we snap up in the market.
I don't know if it's a case of we let them go or if they will go.
Brooks - New Challenge & get out of a setup that just hasn't worked = Mentally refresh
Hastings - wants to play halfback , if we don't agree = plays for a club that does
AD - wants to play 5/8th, if we don't agree = plays for a club that does
Laurie - wants x years but we give z years = goes to a club that offers what he wants

I wouldn't mind seeing how Laurie goes in the halves....kid can play and has a bit of spark about him. We have JH and AD as our halves it would be the slowest half pairing in the comp

I like Laurie, but only want to see him in the halves if its an actual positional shift that makes us stronger. I'm over seeing players moved as an experiment into a position and see them get shifted around all over the place. That's how we end up in the position we are at right now.

Laurie's defence needs to improve tenfold if he is to continue at fullback. He can tackle decently so it may not be an issue for him in the halves.
I do think he would make a decent five eighth as I think he has the right attributes, but one thing I will say in his defence at the back if the line did their job and didn't go missing in defence his life would be much easier.
Yep the issue with laurie's defence this year was that he was often having to make 3 times as many tackles as other fullbacks. Actually im fairly sure his MT % was better then Tedesco he just had to make a lot more per game. To me the key piece where he has to improve is defensive postioning
I'd like to see him closer to the action. I think he's a player who should get his hands on the ball more.
Laurie doesn't go looking for the game enough for me, doesn't compete hard enough...

This is true. I guess if he's at 6 he's in the line all the time and should be involved though.
With all of them but, is there a clear alternative club for them?
Who do you see chasing Laurie/Doueihi/Hastings and offering better terms than the Tigers?
Me or you could stand there and shovel it on....
He'd have some work to do in 2nds before I'd give him a run there.

It would be the definition of better terms. If we won't guarantee a player a position which is what they want they will see if another club can.
We aren't the only club looking for play makers and their is a shortage of them.

agree with that if Brooks does leave and Sheens lets it happen in 2023 they need to fit Staines and Laurie into the side.
Only way that is happening would be
7. Hastings
6 Laurie
3. Douhie
1. Staines
that is what some don't get, if a player wants to play a certain position they will leave or accept less to play a certain position.
