Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

My brother knows a guy that is supposedly in the know - hope he’s wrong though.

Word on the street is that we have signed Kurt Falls and Will Smith on 1 year deals (hopefully train and trial only)
Will Smith is good can play in the halfs hooker and fullback we should have a strong reserve grade side and to have a guy who can play the odd first grade game with experience on the cheap all the better he did show alot of promise a few yews ago I was thinking he had potential to be a regular 5/8 he is fast off the mark mite make super sub off the bench

I think gutho has a huge role at Parra and is more important than Moses. I see Moses making individual plays and being quite dynamic. I also think he takes a lot of wrong options and overplays at times, so I don't think he's a very good organiser in the way that Reynolds, Townsend, Widdop, Cleary, Cronk were able to.

I think Hastings is better at organising and anticipating than Moses. You can point to his participation in a gf and say 'he is a great organising halfback' but I don't think that's proof of that.
You're entitled to think that.
You'd be wrong, but that's your right

I have read pages and pages of so called "suggestions"....until this club starts looking at the youth and complimenting them with experienced players outside of the Moses,Brown Lodge type people that were here before and left a deplorable mark on this club, then we may start to progress in a forward winning manner...
Im still at a loss that the club has chosen the Sheens,Benji and Farah trio as our saving grace...17 years ago and people are still hanging on the glory days,if you look back and think,Sheens left and sued the club,Benji thought he could make a mark on Union,Farah thought he was the club and yet we havent played finals in over 10 years...
I hope that all that think we will have better days ahead prepare themselves for a long stint in the disappointed room,I hope Im wrong and we finally get to be the club we always wanted to be and play finals football for the members and fans...
Its like me putting in to coach the team because I scored the winning try to get us into the finals back in 84 when I played in Group 9,that was a long time ago,so was Tim Sheens and the 2005 GF....

As the wise man told me long ago "never go over ploughed ground, keep moving forward"...

Will Smith would be another Peach type signing.

If Falls/Smith end up being Brooks replacement we are in serious trouble.

but the next crop has sprouted and showing green shoots

dont most say a winning team will stay together for less cash, our kids have been killing it the last few years-the stats overall are not encouraging for them to step up.imo the market is over saturated with the Fins and another team in the near future.think more resources, nurturing will go into Juniors, instead of discarding them on a whim
