Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Took him 5 years to find the answers ......lot of other coaches found the answers a lot quicker Dessie ...Bellamy ...Unca Wayne .....
Huh???

Bellamy's first premiership was 2007 after starting with Melbourne in 2003.

Des started with Manly in 2004 and first won in 2008.

Sheens started at the Tigers in 2003 and won in 2005?

Even Wayne started in 1988 with his first premiership in 1992!

Sorry BB don't want to hijack your post ...but this is the exact thing I guess just drives me to despair with this club ...so we don't go get scans on Scolari ....just get him to do some exercises and he reinjures his knee ......

Reminds me of the Sharks game at Browne Park in Rocky .....Douehi has a possible/probable ruptured ACL ...hobbles all the way down to the Fox team to do a post match interview and then hobbles all the way back to the dressing rooms probably a round hobble of 150 metres ...where is our medical team ..... if they want him to still do the interview organizing the golf cart to at least take him down and back ....or even smarter ..get someone fit to do it ..Brooks from memory had the C beside his name that day ..again apologies Balmain Boy ..thank you for the update
This is a fundamental misunderstanding of the rehab process.

You have oversimplified it for absolutely no reason. They shan't have 'just got him to do some exercises'. Depending on the stage of rehab, intro plyos and landing mechanics testing are fundamental components of the return to play process. Also, with Doueihi, if an ACL is suspected as 'possible or probable', he's immediately off the field. People have finished games with ruptured ACLs.

This was a ridiculous comment about 2 situations you have absolutely no idea about.

Very silly, Happy.

Heaps of young blokes, and not so many ready for the rigours of a full season of first grade. I don’t mind a few old heads. We need them. Stef, Pole, Blore are only early 20’s. Joe O, Papalii, Twal mid 20’s. Bateman and Klemmer are a bit older but still in their 20’s. Hardly Dad’s Army if that’s how it pans out. You need a few 200+ gamers in your pack, a few proven FG standard guys who can play 20 games consistently each season and a couple of up and comers who bring energy even if they coming off the bench or squeeze out 10-15 FG games in the season while still working on their game. Add an X Factor and all of a sudden you have a pretty good pack. Papalii and Api K are definitely X Factor. Bateman was in his first NRL stint. Mixed feelings on Woods. He’s clearly past his best but he is a Tigers man deep down and that counts for something. It’s nice to have a few guys in your squad that wanted to be Tigers players when they were kids. Footy is tribal.
You had me until you said tribal. Tribal is up there with Wests tigers DNA.

We are talking about a player that hasn’t even had a reserves game.

An update on Scolari for you. Spoke to his mum today. He's starting pre season training with the NSW Cup boys on Monday. He actually re-injured his knee a few months back, he came back in for a check-up with our medical team and the physio had him doing some jumping and he re-injured the same knee...

So the club is now going to ease him into preseason. Rather then training with the NRL squad (which is super intense and competitive at this time of the year) they're going to give him to Lambkin who rates him highly to ease him back to fitness. And then re-assess things as he progresses and look to bring him back in with the NRL boys during the season.
Thanks for the update. Explains why we have a new physio team.

I value your opinion mate as I do others, but I can only see the old boys club back at it again...we got Hastings who turned his attitude around and matured while overseas,he was the shining light last year when on the field, his leadership and organising were great, while he was on the field we played like a good team and won some games and lost some by small margins...
when he didnt play we were slaughtered with no real leadership and played like a 3rd grade park side...
he may not be quick but he has talent and smarts about him,so he cant be with us because the old boys club cant be outshone by someone who really tries his best for the team....
You misread me..big fan of Hastings...and were unlikely to find anything better..so he shld be our number ONE retention target
..unless of course we get Williams, who has been outstanding for England(and Canberra)..but long odds against
Last thing I wish to see is the old boys club..yet again..and I fear its creeping in.
Sheens +Benji +Robbie =guess what?

I think the roster shaping up much better than past few seasons
Not seeing it rite now tbh.
Hope Sheens has been busy in UK..or anywhere..tbh..atm weve got Panthers reserve grade fullback on a 1 year deal....and absolutely nothing else other than what Madge signed
Getting a little concerned were gonna end up with big name semi retirees to add false cred to the coaching staff...whose main job s/b to identify and attract talent and make them better(see C Bellamy)

Was talking 2006-2009 .....Sheens didn't make the 8 in those years

Fairly consistent pattern with our club. After all, you of all people know the deal with Tedesco.

Just saying compared to last two - three years anything is better really
