Even when they both denied it people still didn't believe them.I remember for years there was a rumour that Benj and Robbie hated each other, and everybody on the forum would say, "where there's smoke there's fire". Sometimes there isn't.
Try not playing any finals footy. If you looked up failure in the NRL, his picture would be the first one to come up. Pearce actually played finals and represented Australia and NSW in Origin. Brooks has been nothing but a failure. Why, because he hasn't won a comp?

Well actually it is an argument, because the guy is literally a professional, firstly, because he's officially employed as a professional football coach. Not an argument
Oh word of warning that 99% of clubs have fan bases that death-ride the club.Jumped on and had a read of the last 20 pages tonight. Imagine being a potential club player or new wests staff member that jumps on here to see what the tigers fan base is like prior to signing. I’m embarrassed to even think about it. We won’t be building a winning culture with you all death riding your own club. Maybe I’ll check out that other forum.
And one of the best remunerated - go figure!Luke Brooks is the most unsuccessful player in Rugby league history. Fact
And he’s been arguably our best player, having won the player of the year award 3 of the last 5 years.Luke Brooks is the most unsuccessful player in Rugby league history. Fact
It’s difficult to know what’s going on with the Hastings situation? It seems really odd to me that the club “publicly” make all the moves indicating they are trying to develop on field leadership, but have a history of moving on those players who display this type of behaviour?Just a few thoughts.
- If it's actually true about Doueihi managing himself and really asking for $900k per season then he needs to go for a career HIA. Did his acl at the worst possible time contract wise and needs to win the Dally M next year for that to be anywhere near realistic. I think he seriously needs help from a grown up.
- Is there something I've missed re Hastings? He has been great for the tigers and to me has seemed to be nothing less than a great player and leader, plus he's only 26?! Is he a negative influence on the squad? Divisive personality? Just seems like a good guy to me as well and I'm pretty bemused by how the club seems to be treating him.
- Does anyone think the tigers are going to get anything more out of Klemmer than the Knights? Apart from cap space I don't see much else to be excited about by swapping Hastings for him and I doubt this would free up much in any case.
I think its purely positional. Hastings is too slow for halfback. He is a great organiser and has the attributes for lock where he can use his skills to link the forwards to the backs - he can be a bit slower in this position too. There is just a divide between where Hastings thinks he should play and where WT see his best fit. Similar a little too Doueihi who many feel is a talented centre but yet to prove himself in the halves. It’s difficult to know what’s going on with the Hastings situation? Could this be the reason Brooks’ love for playing with the club makes him not too keen on a leadership role? Is that the job which inches you closer to the exit door? 🤣
I think we'll see JH and AD gone if not this year it might be next year.I think its purely positional. Hastings is too slow for halfback. I’m a fan of AD & Hastings an don’t want to see either leave unless they are upgraded / replaced by a top shelf halfBack.I think we'll see JH and AD gone if not this year it might be next year.
I'd like to see a quicker ½'s pairing in Brooks Brown, Moses Brown.
Which year in Brooks' career do you believe the Tigers would have played finals with a different halfback?Try not playing any finals footy. I dont either mate, AD is not worth 800-900k and Brooks is clearly on Sheens Radar for his ½I’m a fan of AD & Hastings an don’t want to see either leave unless they are upgraded / replaced by a top shelf halfBack.
I apologise, and regret my attempt at humour.Sleeve we don't want a repeat of yesterday where the thread got hijacked and members warned. In future off topic slinging matches must go to PM and sort it out in there.
Generally speaking, if a lock was paid more money than a halfback, Hastings probably would want to play lock.Hastings has played well at 13 for WTs and that is where Sheens wants him to play. Hastings believes he is a 7. There is a shortage of halves in the NRL. The Knights appeared to have missed Brooks. The media report the Knights have now approached Hastings.
Every club has been active.I haven't notice any clubs apart from the dolphins doing much in the player market.
I’d say the win loss ratio is a touch different between the two. Why, because he hasn't won a comp?
Neither did Wayne Pearce.
According to Pascoe he doesn't like putting his body on the lineGenerally speaking, if a lock was paid more money than a halfback, Hastings probably would want to play lock.
It more about the money and prestige than anything else imo.
