Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

What sort of footy are we playing next season ? What happened to the ball playing lock ? Who is going to be in the halves ?
Sheens is pretty good working with the players he has to suit his style. I am confident we will see some better quality attacking football regardless next year.
Madge could've had the best 17 attacking players in the NRL in his team, and I'm sure he would'nt have adapted and still would've focused on defence and 5 hits up followed by a bomb.
23 will have us fans way more excited to be watching Tigers games again whether we win or lose!

@THE_POM any news on who we are looking at in the halves and realistic chances of getting them?

My mate knows Mitchell Moses and says he loves the tigers but would never come back with Pascoe as CEO because of how he felt he was treated with Woods and Teddy being prioritised over him.

For me trading Hastings is the biggest mistake we have made since we stuffed up the negotiations for Teddy and Mitch.

We finally had an organising half who directed the team around the park with a strong voice, had a winners mentality, and nice skill and we kept Brooks who in my opinion doesn't matter if we have a better forward pack has no voice,
Great post in a sea of garbage and personal attacks.

My mate is a former player at Parra who also confirmed that Parra and their coach are absolutely all in on Moses.

The fist organising half in years, on a decent contract and that actually likes this club has been shipped out.

This is bad business.

I would say it's the exact opposite. Hastings is the cool head to the erratic Ponga. Brooks and Ponga would be two headless chooks running around, absolute chaos.
But yes Brooks would be submissive to team culture whereas Hastings would challenge team ethos
7 clubs in 11 years, they can't all be bad I'd say Jackson is the problem with culture

Good business for Jacko though.
He signed a lucrative deal for 3
years and will play his preferred
position. Losing jock & Jacko
heaps a tonne of pressure on
Brooks and AD to fire early too
I know AD has the voice and mindset to call the shots - I just don't know if he has the decision making ability to take the percentage plays at this stage. To his credit, I think when the game is on the line, he wants the ball, but currently he wants to run it and take the line on - lives i the moment. The good game managers are thinking about the next set of six and beyond.

Game management is not an innate skill, it is learnt. Perhaps if he can master it, he will earn his rumoured price tag

Agree. I think Newcastle are the winners here unfortunately. I wanted Klemmer but not at the expense of our best 7 and 13.

Not sure what happens if Brooks/AD don’t fire or get injured.

Was considering using the footy a bit, mapping out some imaginative plays, particularly from scrums, whilst allowing them to utilise their natural skills.

However, upon further thoughts, have decided to stick with the tried and tested, with Luke turning Twal back inside as often as possible and if not Joffa, with Adam throwing long cut-out passes to a well marked winger.

As for the lock role, keep an ear to the wind for @THE_POM as I am working on the who, and how to make them as ineffective as my predecessor, with all to be revealed shortly.

Seems like you are trying to create drama from what looks like a good business deal for player and coach so that it gives some credence for persisting with Brooks.
Brooks will have plenty of opportunity again next season to repay another coach's faith in him on the footy field behind what could be a decent pack. Rejoice about that.

Well said Bob. We have a propensity
to release players early 2. Unless
releasing Jacko early is by design,
In which case we have something
up our sleeve, or management saw
something with him that was off kilter

AD and hastings showing up brooks is like three diabetics comparing dumps to be fair.
Incredible , you should write teenage comedies, the comments are insane, but i always get a laugh! !
Adam won’t be extended for the time being.
He needs to show his ability in the halves at the moment. Sheens isn’t convinced either.
That was obvious to most who have common sense,Pom. Thanks for clarifying . They have no other options at the moment, but the search for a half will continue, and the writings on the waal.

Also Hastings would often jump into DH. Don’t like the idea of play two hookers. Rather one specialist hooker and a utility forward. Api usually plays about 60 mins. If we don’t have Hastings in the 13, not sure who will help out at DH. Maybe Bateman?
Sheens old model of Robbie & Halatau was very fasted paced. And created the players in motion momentum

Important considerations, and for mine the area of Hastings' greatest contribution to the side.

I suppose we need Rua to be ready to step up, as I don’t see Simpkin as the answer and haven't heard anything further since the earlier rumours of him being moved on.

Unbelievable , great news all round, and what do we get ? Brooks haters.
Hastings ,was not a half, either is AD, and Brooks has to lift his game.
Solution - piss off to newcastle, you are not worth the money your on and you are not a FB, centre , or half, not needed for 2024. LB, improve your game or you can join them.
Laurie and a few others,-- we are not f ing around anymore, lift your games or theres the door.

At last a professional management with gonads, that can identify talent, and more important can identify duds.

Post-partum depression.

He's troubled with his new role of fatherhood and its effecting his ability to game manage.

He can't execute due to the lack of decent outside backs.

There'll be something.
They got rid of Jacko - how can I know what to do on the 5th?
