Your perogative to dislike Hastings - and hard to resist merely stating something to justify your dislike for Hastings that might imply to anyone who also dislikes Hastings that there was more to him leaving than a good business deal. I got it the first time.

The thing is you have to adjust your expectations. Brooks isn't Andrew Johns or Clearly or Thurston.

would be nice in 2024 to get Moses or George Williams and play Brooks as a 6
2023 does not leave many options other than Brooks at 7

News flash Dennis - There's only one of each of those guys, And they play for other teams.

The 4 years you pointed out - We had Woods, Galloway (Done) And Ava (Ordinary) as our primary Props yeah? Marty was not here long enough - Nor Gavet to have any real impact.
And the 4 years you pointed out, How old was Brooks early 20's - 20-40 Games?
And he's supposed to do what at that age? What were Cronk and Thurston doing at that age?

- And you think anyone whos' opinion isn't your defeats their own argument.

Who were the Back Rowers Dennis - And what Level players were they?
Furthermore, Let me know the last team that won the come without rep players in the back row...
Have we had a decent rep back rower since Ellis Dennis (And don't say Leilua or Tuilagi)

You confuse your opinion on a player and those differing as fandom....
There's 17 teams in the comp Dennis - And about half as many top line / rep halves....
Unfortunately, Not everyone is going to get one....

What you need to do, Is accept we're not going to get/have the best player in every position....
It will really free up your day.
Brooks is the best half at the club, has been for some time - And until we have another one...
Or there's potential to have one.....

I think Hastings was better last year but everything else you stated is spot on. The difference between Brooks and Hastings isn't much either. It's more the style they play. Hastings is an organizer in the middle whereas Brooks plays on an edge.

Yeah I'd agree ...but you can get just as exposed playing in the middle as you can in the centres ...especially when you play for this club

Good post. There are a few on here that have their favourites and don't really care if we win games as long as their favourites are in the team. This is a perfect example of that.

I think most people on here want to win more games regardless of who whether their favourite player is in the team. I'm one of those. I would have preferred Hastings in the 7 and Brooks went to the Knights. However, this didn't happen so I will support Brooks and hope he finds form next year.
 
The whole argument about whether Brooks Douehi Hastings or Madden is better is really a joke

The 4 of them are all crap as a combination ...we just won a spoon remember

They all need upgrading ....instead of arguing who is better ...lets just get all of their asses out of here asap

They werent all crap in isolation.
It was the combination and coaching.
Madge and Noddy did not prepare them well, nor pivot their strategies to suit the playing style of them as a group.

I really liked him but I'm fine with him going as well. Our spine is a mess but at least it sounds like we are trying to develop a good pack and we are letting these players go.

We were dead last and we were terrible. We need changes. The coaching staff/Sheens appear to be doing that.

We have to wait and see how we go next season as well prior to judging.

Hastings and AD clearly want to play in the halves and I think it's mostly due to money. That is fine but the club shouldn't pay on how good they think they are but instead how well they perform.

In Brooks defence .. as much as i was happy to let he him go this season .. Brooks has never had the opportunity to play behind a forward pack of the one we are assembling for next season. with Sheens and Benji in his ear and training him to be the half that he should be .. this will be his last chance to show us what he can do .. with Klemmer, Steph, Papali'i, Blore, Pole, and possibly Bateman .. then Api steering these fowards around .. this will be Brooks biggest chance to show us what he can do.

With a forward pack that is bending the opposition backwards, a half back has the best opportunity to take advantage and get the back line firing. At this stage we will have Douiehi at 6 and he'll be able to use his big body on the edges and open it up wide for Naden, Kapoa, Nofa Talau, Ferrari and Kenny out wide.

I am prepared to give Brooks this one last chance .. with no Hastings, Brooks has to grow a set and bark orders and take over this team .. no ifs or buts .. !!

We came last. They all had really good moments but you need high quality consistent footy from guys wanting to be paid as marquee players.

Someone was hacking fans rating Madden the other day. In all seriousness how much behind Hastings, Doueihi and Brooks was Madden. It was a bees dick if that.

I just think we need some changes and the players going after every last dollar makes those decisions easy for us.

Then get rid of recruitment and the 4 halves in question .....I'm even happier with that ......but the infighting on here is wasted ......if you want to win a premiership do you line up with any of the 4 mentioned ...not a chance in hell ......we need to stop aiming for the scraps of the top sides tables and start looking at this comp as something we need to win

Stumbling into 8th in 5 years time and then getting belted week 1 doesn't appease me ......I want to be a constant contender ...and these pretenders aren't going to make us year in year out contenders
