Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Calm down. I think I noted how bad this place is, so i clearly see the pollution on this forum.

I'm making the point that if you want to start addressing it, Chris is hardly the target. I have 5 current posters on ignore, something that I've never done in 12 years. Call those constant and continuous trouble makers out. Won't get you anywhere though, they are the low breed
I’m with you on that …. my list is also growing by the day. I’m not having a shot at Chris for quality of his data but the fact that he gets drawn into these slanging matches.
Anyway fir me enough said on the matter and appreciate your response.

Just on the Woods signing....
I believe this to possibly rank amongst our most ill considered recruitment decisions ever.

Irrespective of the fact that he was the architect of two of our best ever juniors leaving the club, two guys who recently captained their countries in the world cup and have played finals, origins and received high level awards....
Irrespective of his tell all interview to advise that he, our club captain was also bailing, in one of the most self congratulatory, yet victim promoting segments ever aired on television...
Irrespective of the fact that he purposefully drew out the announcement of their defections until the player market dictated only dregs were still out there to replace them...

HE IS NOT A GOOD PLAYER!!!

I dont think he has been since his first couple of years. Since he decided to be a celebrity, his form plummeted.
Even when he was playing Origin and Tests, he was a lazy, low energy, opportunistic stat padder. By this I mean he never took tough carries. He never exerted himself unless it would be reflective on the sheets. He had the NRL fooled for a couple of years in the way that his stats looked great - therefore he was a great player.
It was all a fake show. He'd end a game with 125m from 13 hit-ups and 32 tackles and get plaudits even though we lost by 22 points. You'd re-watch the game to see who was bludging considering his efforts and find that all of his runs came on the fourth tackle and that 27 of his tackles were third man in flops. people thought he was a tough hard working prop forward and he just wasn't. He'd never take a hit-up after a kickoff. He'd push more skillful players out of the road to take an easy hit-up against retreating defences and die with the ball even though the other player would have looked to promote it to the attackers out wide. He gained a reputation as an excellent off-loader. His stats stated he managed half a dozen a game. They don't mention that nearly every offload hit the ground or went to a player in a worse position who either dropped it, got smashed, or both.

All fans of clubs he has played at mock him. He is not regarded well. His nickname is Sharon for god sakes. No one wants his next contract...perfect Wests Tigers signing. Morons.

I've gotta say, as much as i think the addition of Klemmer is a good one, I really don't have a huge amount of faith in Sheens. I think we were slightly better with Hastings, than without.

Sheens traded Fifita, Gibbs and Heighno in 2011, right when we stopped playing finals football, for Adam Blair. Sacked from his last 3 coaching stints.

The club really missed a trick by not installing Todd Payten.

I would love to be wrong, but I just sense more bad decisions may lead to more pain.

In fairness, I absolutely love the look of the forward pack, but we don't have anything to write home about in the backs. We will make 60 metres a set for a Douiehi spiral, or for Brooks to put a grubber through to the shins of the opposition or kick it dead.
My recollection is that Gibbs, Heighington, and Ryan were told that may look elsewhere, Fifita was not happy that he felt excluded from the "boys club" - Lawrence, Farah, Marshall etc.

Didn't survive at all.
We died and it was a spontaneous combustion.

Losing Tedesco may forever be one of the most damning sliding doors moment in the history of this club.
True, but there wasnt anything we could do about it. He was going for a better all round deal that only somewhere like Roosters / Raiders could provide. Remember we almost lost him to Raiders before he went at the next opportunity to Roosters- his only loyalty was to himself not WT for all the perseverance we put up with in his early stages of injury and rehab. We were just a means to an end.

Klemmer, Papalili and Api all officially onboard next year....

Most successful recruitment season we've had so far - Hastings is a loss but let's try focus on the positives, we have both AD and Brooks who can work together as they're a lot more attacking and would play right into the hands of what Benji/Sheens will try implement especially with Api guiding them around

Worst case - George Williams is our second option
