Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

So with Tim's last comment ....does that mean we will never have heard of some of the signatures

I always come back to the movie Major League ...when the owner presents the playing roster to the board ...one member says " I've never heard of half of these guys and the one's I have are way past their prime " .....another board member says "this guy is dead " to where the owner replies "well cross him off then "

I picture this in our board room ......lol
Great movie see it over 20 times ...Just a random question have you seen kung Fu hustle?

Laurie - young and shows potential
Noff - at his best is NRL level
Centre spot vacant
Naden - inconsistent
Ken - good player but rumoured to be leaving and knee could be chronic
AD - thinks he’s worth a million $ 😂
Brooks - Will play behind a better platform then ever before and Api will take some pressure off him

That’s how I see it mate, few gaps there
Laurie … needs a feed
Nofoalooza.. can’t defend for shit
Need a gun centre
Naden ..complete dope
Kennedy… needs to get off the weed
Doohey … punt him
The imp .. enough said

Well Devil's Advocate - they could also stop trying to bait him. It's two sides of the coin.
No one’s baiting him … we’re laughing at him …
It’s as if he wants a Mickey Mouse badge with every post ..
no wonder willow had it in for him !

Some thoughts:

1. I think clearing out the dead wood is a bigger achievement than the signings.

2. The halves and backs should look better behind a more competitive (dare I say “dominant”?) pack.

3. If we can add an improvement to the coaching and game plan on top of the improved roster we will get another bump in performance.

4. The club is getting very close to being perfectly set up with enough experienced talent in the top 30 and the pathways stacked for the future (not to mention financially strong). This will let us choose who we let go when we want to bring a star junior through. I don’t believe the salary cap position or the contract lengths should inhibit this (although I do wonder if Kotogua is a risk with both IP and Bateman on 3 year deals).

5. Better on field performance will lead to better off field performance financially through membership, merchandising, sponsorship, attendance, etc.

Overall, everything is looking positive.

The king is back time for some bombs
- John Bateman signed
- Moses set to sign a 3 year deal starting in 2024 with a promise that Brooks will be there when he arrives
- Luke Thompson 50/50 to return to Australia
- Sheens found Douehis 900k price tag laughable
- Woods a potential signing
But the Westslife guys said that Mitch was Belmore bound.
