I know a $250k transfer fee has been mentioned but where has it been reported we’re offering Bateman $750k per season for you to post your figures above??

Media speculation both here and the UK,certainly it is not a particularly reliable source but that is what i have read

Just delete cookies and you can read it. But you are right I should have posted the whole article.
Easier method - use this website, which is used to archive snapshots of webpages. The byproduct is bypasses paywalls for most media outlets.

If it's a new page (one it's never archived before), it takes a few minutes to process. But it captures text and graphics and preserves the formatting.

Thank You. I was going to post it's such a pain in the backside to actually post the whole article. When I copy and paste it gets the links and other stories etc. I had to delete a bunch of crap.

I had nothing else to do so it's cool but I tend to avoid most things that are difficult.

In Sheens we trust, if Bateman comes, regardless of how we go, Sheens has achieved I goal, which really no one did for a long time, and that is recruit talent. 3 years to get Isiah and Api for Madge, 4 months for TS. on the proviso that JB comes. Was it not the main reason for JH leaving, in that Batemen and him really detest each other.

But really I think our feelings are betraying us, not to sound like Darth Vader, but after 5 years of misery, and having our heart and soul ripped out when 3 local superstars walk out, followed by a procession of wasted player purchases, and the big one, the bus boy, became coach of the year 6 months after leaving us, and went on to win back to back titles. Ivan.

In the greater scheme of things we felt that Jackson was owed to us, maybe our luck had changed when this cheap risky purchase, worked out to be a wonder buy. He brought a sense of hope and a pleasant change.

In reality no one wanted him, he played well for us no doubt, with maturity and he owned the n7. But we finished last, in one of the worst, for and against tally's on record, of course he looked special.

But now we have a supercoach, who is willing to coach us and actually wants to coach us, has a plan, seems to attract players, and is driven to execute his plan. And is even more driven by the fact that he failed on his first real assignment, 4 months ago. Getting Ciraldo over.

STEFANO,KLEM,IZE,API, BATES*, when was the last time we had a pack with a mix of youth experience and ability.

I haven’t seen it mentioned anywhere we’re offering him $750k per season, not saying it hasn’t happened, just I’ve not read it.

That’s crazy money for him if true, I would think $550-600k max is more on the money.

Gents and ladies

I am very disappointed about losing Hastings and think that unless we score MM or someone we are going backwards with Brooks at half.

However that is just my opinion and the only proof will be how we perform next year. (Let’s leave 2024 out of it for now)

I know there’s a lot of people who think Sheens recruitment drive is going well - I think losing Jackson is not worth Klemmer + Bateman but again who knows.

Rather than everyone hammering each other because they don’t agree - and again none of us know right now - what about a friendly wager amongst us all who want to participate.

If the tigers finish on top of the Knights next year those who thought Sheens was right about Jackson get free drinks from the others (those who think Sheens was wrong) at the last home game….

Thoughts ?

I’m open to how this is decided - whether it be who finished on the ladder higher and what the winners get.

Just thought could be good for people to meet at the last game and either lament or celebrate a year.

He is an excellent organiser. I would have liked to have seen him and Douehi as halves. Still, Bateman was amazing with Canberra. If he can reproduce that form at the WT it'll be worth losing JH.

Sheens: “I don‘t blame Jacko, he wanted to play seven and (Newcastle) offered him a seven jumper. He was in our plans to be 13, but he’s off to Newcastle to play seven and we wish him well.”

A halfback wanting to play halfback, who would of thought. He'll be a great fit for newcastle though and will be a great mentor for Ponga.

It's actually hilarious seeing everyone lose there shit I'm ngl

Ever social media post the comments r actually quite funny lol

This article states this decision is all about Brooks salary which is too high especially for next season.

It also states Hastings might not have even been offered a contract post next season because they don't like him.
No what it says was that the reason Brooks wasn't swapped was because the 2 parties couldn't come to an agreement on how much freight was involved because of his contract for his final year. It suggests the tigers were willing to trade him but newcastle went for the cheaper option and put forward that deal. As many have pointed out Brooks salary for 2023 is as high as it is because he took a cut earlier and 2023 has to be topped up. I think the Hastings thing is only guesswork - he could say the same about Brooks and Douehi who have not been offered extensions as yet.

Sheensy is the coach for the next 2 years.
We had 4 players who fancy themselves as the best 7 in the club.
What exactly were the odds of losing one or two? Particularly after the coach was sacked.
I think if Sheens gives one of those 4 the 13 jersey with explicit instructions on how to play in that role, but that player continues to play his usual 7 role, then you would have to bite down on the guard and wonder if it would ever work.

“As a club we are obviously not satisfied that we finished last in 2022 and tough decisions need to be made," said Tigers boss Justin Pascoe.

Not everyone will be happy with some decisions we make, but we do not apologise for these decisions.”

That sounds pretty close to linking the spoon with Hastings’ performances this season, which I don’t know if it’s deliberate or not but I would sure be stung by it.

That's funny because Jacko being likeable or not, his Efforts contributed massively to the FEW games Tigers did win.
