If Moses does come back then Brooks won’t be re emerging as a halfback… he’ll starting a new life as a five eighth.

I'm not so sure. While I think that's the logical move, and probably most likely, it wouldn't surprise me at all if Moses plays 6 again. Reason being that's his best shot at Origin. Cleary is going nowhere, but there's a big ??? over Luai and his Samoan links. I can see Moses wanting to play 6 so he can push to partner Cleary in origin.

A halfback wanting to play halfback, who would of thought. He'll be a great fit for newcastle though and will be a great mentor for Ponga.

I think Jack Wighton and Matt Burton will be 6s if Luai goes down or is unable to play for whatever reason. Moses is a replacement for Cleary only. Both halfbacks with good kicking and predominantly R sided players.

I tend to agree, I'm just thinking what Mitch is. Moses' best chance is to compete against those guys rather Cleary.

Time will tell obviously, it's a huge decision to make but remember Sheens and Marshall know a good footballer more than most people. And seem to believe that Brooks is a better player than Hastings and can turn him into a top quality half back. I think you have to have some faith in them, I'll be enjoying the ride if they do.

This year Andrew Johns was saying he'd love to have Brooks at Newcastle, plenty of potential still. Never heard him say he'd like to have Hastings there.

Wonder if that now that we've strengthened the forward pack, if Joey might be willing risk his reputation as a halves whisperer and come on board for some training at our club? I can see why he would not have been too keen before - halves without time and space are on a hiding to nothing. He worked with Moses at Parra for a while and that seemed to go well.
