That's not entirely true.
Yes they recounted votes..BUT not the signed envelopes which verified mail in votes , they had miraculously disappeared.
They could also not investigate electronic counting machines and they were denied the sign in information.
Who will ever know one way or another in regards to the correct vote when things are hidden . You would think if there was nothing to hide they would put everything on the table and not fight against it through the courts.
Glad Australia has a simple method that is used the country wide , and not states manufacturing their own electoral rules.

Obviously there’s a process whereby you need to decouple the signed declaration from the ballot itself. So once the voters declaration is verified the ballot goes into the general pile.

I don’t understand your claim on electronic voting. My understanding is that they are all recounted. I’ve not seen any credible reports suggesting there was anything untoward with that.
