I am happy to defer to Sheens' knowledge on rugby league and in this case Maguire. It's first hand and learning why certain decisions were taken is just as important as the decisions themselves.
 
There is nothing wrong with five hit ups and a bomb - all teams do it. It's the quality of the hit ups, the bomb, the chase and the eagerness to defend it that is the difference between teams that get the ascendancy over their opposition and those that get dominated. You can blame the coaches for the tactics but execution on the field and the lack of ability to compete all comes down to the players.

That's why I posted last week tiger's not to sign nathan brown, if I were a junior and your opportunity was blocked by new 30 year old signings for another few years I would sign straight away with another club

Brad Arthur’s record over the last 6 years likely eclipses Sheens record over the last 30 - and he’s hardly considered a master coach.

I’m on the fence with it, it may work - it may not… one thing I can give Sheens credit for was that he could steer this club (politically) and he could bring the kids through….

You may be right - it might not work. But to compare Arthurs record over Sheens is just a total nonsense. And if you just want to cherry pick Arthurs best years rather than his whole career i'll do the same and up your Brad Arthurs over the last 6 years with Tim Sheens 9 years from 1988 to 1996. Its totally meaningless.

Your statement has no relevance if you are just going to cherry pick - in his time at Parra Arthurs has overseen 3 wooden spoons, a salary cap penalty for rorting and until this year only won 2 of their 8 semi final appearances. Overall i would say he has been a good coach when he had a good team but has never had the coaching ability to get a team up for big games. My point is you cant compare coaches - there are too many variables. Sheens was a legend with a Canberra side packed with superstars but an absolute dud at NQ with an ordinary roster. Bellamy is one of the few coaches who seems to be able to overcome most of the variables and stay on top over time and he needed a good dose of cheating to achieve that.

I think the deal will be two years max. Maybe one year. One year would be ok.

We've had 11 seasons to change it ...we finally hit rock bottom (hopefully ) in 2022

Don’t see why there’s so much negativity around Nathan Brown potentially joining.... the idea of having a forward who can bring a solid 25-35 mins of pure aggression and mongrel with a bit of spark off the bench to counter Pole would be really good for our team

He won’t cost ridiculous $ and he can ball play as well and has a good offloading game with SOS experience too

If we can free up one more roster spot to try acquire another outside back to join him which seems like what we’re doing, then I’m liking the way our team is shaping

We didn't have the wrestle in 05....we did get quick ptb's however because of that... Which is what 05s style of footy needs
