Happy New Year to all the forum folk and your families, I hope you all have a prosperous year full of happiness.
I am glad to wave goodbye to 2022, it was a rough year for me and I look forward to a fresh start for 2023. Even though New Year signals another year older ( New Year baby), I have been planning for a year of change of fortunes, so when I awoke to an email congratulating me on my lotto win I was excited. Apparently Lotto was taking the piss, I won the princely sum of 49c. I guess I better get in the phone to a financial planner to organise the investments.
I still believe better things will come.
Onwards & upwards guys, happy 2023.

Champion @Buttface - you've said it all.
I really join those questions/comments.
Years ago I wanted to do something similar in a completely different field but fractured a vertebrae snowboarding just before I handed over a deposit on accommodation, etc. Had to cancel. But yeah what @matchball is doing is another level again and wether it works out for him or not you don’t wanna die wondering? You only get one crack at life.

Resolutions - start a cartel, win lots of money and buy a castle, win an argument with the wife, hang out at train stations looking really tough, go into the wilderness and be a pagan sorcerer, not get any goats ever again.
Can you let us all know what resolutions worked and didn't

I for one will be reading with baited breath

PS Your goat will arrive at the train station in a pink coat with a VHS copy of Scarface attached

PPS the key to winning an argument with the wife is to mutter the last point under your breathe ...take the moral victory without her knowing ...it will drive her insane when she finds out next argument lol

Yeh krissy, 22 was a pretty crappy year, much like 21. We got locked down for a good part of it. We all consumed more alcohol, Dan Murphy’s built drive throughs, women got hairier, some people realised they could work from home and moved to Bali. I painted the house and made furniture. My son learned Mandarin, well most of the characters.
The really good thing to come from the adversity is that we continue to amaze ourselves at how adaptable we can be, to whatever situation gets thrown at us.
Good luck with your plans.

Wow. That’s a ballsy move, I hope you love it and make it to the finish. I have so many questions straight up my man.
How long is the apprenticeship/course?
Do you have wife and/or kids?
I know plans can change but at this stage do you plan to come back to Oz when you’re a master of the brew?
Do you have German in ya?
Can you speak German?
Can you access the WTF in Germany and keep us updated on your progress.
I’ll stop there for now.
Good Luck Matchball, ballsy stuff. I hope Lady Luck shines down on you the whole time of your brewmastery, green lights only for you our WT brother. 🍺🍻🍻🍺

Details linked above. It will answer your questions. It's hybrid half online and half on site. It's an English course so German isn't required.
I will be doing another course that's more advanced once this concludes.

My plans are to open a micro craft beer brewery/bar in Asia.
Software engineering has been lucrative but it's never been a passion.

Thanks Matchball, I’ll check it out later.
Software engineering v’s Master brewer?
That’s an easy win every time.
Why Asia?
