Cooper Cronk and Luke Brooks are both well and truly in-form in 2018, but their specialties come in different areas of play.

Cronk gets through more work on the defensive end of the field, while Brooks finds a lot of his game comes through running.

Brooks got the best of Cronk in Round 1, and that will surely be playing on the veterans mind going into a big match.

As I’ve said before Cronk was the best halfback in 2018. The halfback award should’ve gone to him not Brooks.

That was an interesting game. Chooks had a halftime lead at 8-2, then went to 14-2 after the break. Both halves played well with the Chooks holding on for a 16-14 win.
Cleary, Madge and Sheens are smart not to let Brooks go, but he needs freshening up, and maybe that’s exactly what he has had with his 8week lay-off and end of season break?
Let’s face it, he’s as good as any 7 running around today.

Will Moses sign due to Brooks staying ??

To me there is a massive difference. I think it's false to state Bateman only signed due to other players signing.

I wouldn't even consider pursuing Moses if it was on the basis of Brooks or any other player staying.

so Moses is not allowed to think hhhmm I wouldn't mind playing at 7 along with Brooks at 6 ? and that sways him to take the cash vs Staying at Parramatta. ?
Players sign to play with players they want to all the time Earl.

We are trying to entice a player to come here if he says to Sheens geez I would like AD as my halves partner surely Sheens looks at it.
Likewise if a player says geez I would like Brooks as my halves partner.

Moses can think whatever he wants but you can't guarantee players certain positions or teammates.

I remember reading these fluff articles about how this was going to be Brooks big year when it read

Hopefully next year the standard fluff article about Brooks reads,

I disagree with this. He was our best kicker last season. He puts in a great bomb for Ken M and he can do it on the other side as well. The difference is that Ken M is great under the high ball.

He was our best long kicker for sure last season and they had to go to him regularly. Hastings had a better shorter kicking game but not by a lot. Doueihi has the best bomb but his option taking is worse than Brooks and his kicking game is a lot more erratic.

I think his option taking especially under pressure isn't very good. I think he can still be targeted defensively and his running game has gone backwards.

I also think he is a better running 6 or running 7 but he looked much better a little wider of the ruck and just attacking on our left side.

Agree to disagree! As I said he looked good as a 5th tackle kicker in 20’s just hasn’t materialised in first grade. He just looked frazzled even in the 3-4th tackle as he prepared for his kick on the 5th. I honestly think the pressure of the 5th tackle kick ruined his overall play. Hopefully with the sheens/Benji influence and the better forward pack we will see more time and less pressure. I think u need to go back and watch tapes of last season and see how bad he was it was a bomb all the way boring play next to know short kicks or cross field grubers. Best of luck Luke

Nice sarcasm, not. He does have some blame, but how much of his poor performances are from pathetic coaching. Stop cherry picking your argument, just saying he’s with us for the next season at least. Let’s back him with the new coaching team and the new pack and not death ride our players and team for a change!!! From the usual forum death riders, just look at the people on the likes of the above quote, same same…

It's fine to disagree but I watched Brooks and Hastings and Doueihi closely last season and in my opinion Brooks was the best general kicker we had. I really tried to take off the preconceived ideas when doing it as well.
