Juniors - Pathways General Discussion

the speed at which Wests HM play is frightening. given that they're all a year younger this is a very special crop of kids. Isdale's low centre of gravity ensures that his size doesn't matter, haven't seen too much but I hope that translates to defence. Makasini is something else. have seen and heard little bits but to be doing that in your junior reps debut a year younger is incredible.

we've all heard the noise about Onitoni Large. his ability to ballplay so close to the line and do it with ease isn't something you typically see in a kid his age. providing we nurture him properly we have something very special on our hands.

The Magpies young 9 did some good things there too. Service from dummy half was crisp and he got them onto the front foot a few times off the ruck.

Tigers on the other hand - just outclassed by the looks of it.

Laurie Daley Cup (U/18s) - Macarthur Wests Tigers

Macarthur Wests Tigers’ Laurie Daley Cup team fell to an 18-point loss in Round 1, with Western Rams proving too strong on the day.

After holding on to a two-point lead for a long stretch of the contest, the repeated defensive efforts that Macarthur Wests had to come up with, eventually proved decisive, with the Rams taking advantage of the away side’s tired legs, late in the game.
2022 Wests Harold Matthews premiership-winner Tajh Colquhoun was a clear standout in a losing side.

Andrew Johns Cup (U/16s) - Macarthur Wests Tigers

An entirely new-look Andrew Johns Cup team were strong in their first hit out of the year, coming up with a solid win against a Western Rams side who didn’t die wondering.

Wingers Paul Johnson and Isaac Orji both crossed for doubles, with Johnson a particular standout on the day, his damaging carries proving difficult to handle for the Rams' defence.

Outstanding performances off the interchange bench from hooker Brooklyn Milford and workhorse prop Hayden Young also proved decisive in Macarthur Wests Tigers picking up their opening-round win.

Sadly the initial diagnosis after the game sounds incorrect. ACL is being suggested - these injuries are far too frequent. How to fix the issue - I have no idea.
I'm no expert but we did a lot a sand dune training and beach ball work and I can't remember anyone getting knee injuries... coincidence or luck or simply a better way to strengthen ligaments, tendons, muscles in a greater range of movement without impact. 🤔

It’s the wrestling. Holding players up and then twisting them to the ground, sometimes using multiple defenders. Knee and ankle ligaments do not like these actions.

If this game survives all the hysteria aroung HIA's we are going to have some good looking intelligent 60 year olds heads attached to a mangled set of limbs.

I thought the initial fear was he had done his ACL but with further examination probably only an MCL? He got the scans done on Saturday night so he'd know by now.

Hopefully it is just an MCL

Livestreaming backpacks have been around for years and are constantly evolving as more people livestream themselves outdoors doing activities to viewers

Livestream backpacks come with everything you need, battery , hd camera that can be shoulder mounted, tripod, high quality data connection

These backpacks will set u back 4000-5000AUD, but in the grand scheme of things it's cheap... quite easy for the club to purchase one... hire a dedicated fan or club personel to attend the gsme..stream it on a onlinr platform such as twitch, youtube etc, and then quite easily have the backpack returned to the club after game

Aint hard
