Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Hey all FWIW I have no contacts at Pawwa or Tigers but I do at Bullfrogs. Unfortunately. And please beware no matter what is said in the Media their biggest goal now is to get a 7 for 2024. And yea they are still in negotiations with MM. Now one question I do have who do they have that they can swap that Pawwa? Who they maybe interested in? I dont’t know but that option is still in the equation.
hate these goofballs that has no juniors and steal players from other teams.

He isn’t behind anyone, he will start.
Was the 1st player Benji signed into his years.

Papa and Bateman don’t play the same position unless Bateman is maybe viewed as lock.
Stef isn’t infront of him at the moment.

Our biggest issue has been forward quality & depth. You need 9 quality forwards each week.

Joe makes us better for next few years be dumb to move him on to gain 1yr early at a 2yr cost quality to us.
he is no world beater and as I said as far as forward leaders go klemmer Api papali Bateman are all better forward leaders than joffa.
nobody thought Hastings would go to Newcastle either, if it meant parramatta wanted joffa as second row for Moses in 2023 he would be gone

In a team that was pathetic last year, Joffa ended the season ranked inside the top 10 in two important categories across the whole league (most runs and most tackles). He cracked top 20 across the whole league for most offloads and top 30 for most run meters. Imagine what he can do with 3 or 4 blokes beside him also having a crack.
First player picked for mine and should be captain.

You’re dreaming if Joffa goes.
Benji wants him he will be staying.

I think the simple answer is no, it’s damn near impossible for a halfback to create anything from behind a forward pack with no momentum, most times you’re kicking from inside your 40 on the back foot with their forwards raining down on you because of a slow play the ball, all ya can do is chip bomb for field possession, must the loneliest feeling
For evidence refer to Mitchell Pearce’s origin career.

There are quite a few players that must be traded before we even think of selling Ofahengaue e.g. Seyfarth, Nofoaluma, Twal...

I still think Matamua is a bit green, bateman is coming in late, blore still to be tested...a lot of uncertainties.
Joffa can play big mins in every position except hooker.
I think he'll get big minutes until this forward pack shakes out, at least until players start cementing positions. Joffa was the only rock amongst pebbles last year. He's the type of player you want in a side, leading a rebuilding pack. Imo.

Joffa will be in our 17 each week. Whether he starts or comes off the bench he’ll be there and will be a help to the squad.

I've just been thinking...I get everyone's different take on Joffa, but hey...here we are talking about whether our best forward is going to get big mins.
We haven't talked like this for while, so it sounds like a good problem or debate to me.

A first grade forward pack is not 5 players....it is a dozen players that will all have to fill in over the period of a season. We will have some impressive "names" in the pack for this year and that should win us quite a few games.

The problem will be injury and possibly rep selection. We have some bright young forwards who can fill in here or there but we dont have experience in the lower grades. As soon as we lose an Api, Bateman or Klemmer for a few consecutive weeks we will struggle, especially against the stronger clubs.

We need to start the season well and be 12-14 points after 10 rounds as I think we will fatigue come the rear end of the season.
