With all our Matthews players doing well hopefully rorters and bulldog's keep away, this is the age those clubs go signing junior's from other clubs then make out they're their own (((

We do the same thing as do all the other clubs,it is just a matter of who is the best at it.

Lachlan Galvin is an elite talent. equally adept in the halves and in the back row, and his decision making is excellent. Shaped to pass and threw a nice dummy to score his first, unlocked Saukuru down the left for our second try, threw the ball to him again for Saukuru's double and then backed up through the middle to score the last try.

while it looks as if he still has a fair amount of growing to do, it's clear he has a future in first grade. Saukuru and Ofele Lene (To'o clone) look the pick of the backline players for Wests' SG side. expect our attack to go to another level with Da Silva back this week.

It’s the wrestling. Holding players up and then twisting them to the ground, sometimes using multiple defenders. Knee and ankle ligaments do not like these actions.
Not for ACLs - a significant number of ACLs are done without any or minimal player contact.

Definitely the medials and ankle ligament strains can occur in tackles / contact, but most ACL injuries are done via a sudden pivot or cut action from the player - the player does it themselves. Same as most hamstring injuries only occur when the player has enough space to stretch out and then tear the hamstring.

What is problematic with league and rugby is that players are often pivoting at speed, particularly in the backs. This is why ACL tears are more common in backs than in the forwards, because the forwards tend to go up/down at a slower speed, whereas the backs are regularly cutting back/away against the defence.

ACLs also very common in other high-pivot sports: soccer, basketball, netball, skiing etc.

If this game survives all the hysteria aroung HIA's we are going to have some good looking intelligent 60 year olds heads attached to a mangled set of limbs.
You can repair a knee via surgery (or even replace) - but you can't do that with a brain.

Magpies looking the more skilful side at the moment. Just keeping Dragons in the game by making errors in good field position. The side look very talented, but only concern moving forward is the size of the pack. Dragons players look like giants compared to us.

First half Wests 12 - 0. One set in particular 24th minute we looked slick with Large, Isdale and Laulili all involved.

Dragons have barely completed a set. A combo of bad handling and poor organisation. Have a bigger pack than ours, with Latu the pick of the bunch. Honestly won't be surprised if they win as they have had the pick of the chances but didn't convert.

2 of our tries from an intercept and a broken play. 3rd try from an excellent line by the centre and pass from Isdale for an overlap in the corner. Our 1-7 are fast.

Isdale the pick of the bunch for me. Always moving, looks to promote the play, good kick on him and surprisingly hard to tackle.

Laulili looks hard to stop and has really looked to get involved (or maybe he's gone one out a bit too much).

Large is a supreme athlete. Makes everything look easy, except goal kicking. He's playing a year up and the hype is real.

Shouts to Cooper Clark who came on end of the first half. Made some good runs and showed some agility for a kid who looks like he still has a lot of growing to do.
