Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

This is also the reason why he didn't play in last weeka State Cup trail and why he's not playing in Thursdays trial.
He did play in last weekend's state cup trial though.
There were rumours late last year that the Dogs were going after him but he rejected them and chose to re-sign with us. Not sure why things would change so quickly, what's your source anyway? Might want to double check this.

Not exactly sure but I believe he's signed with the Dogs for 2024 and is agitating for an early release. Not rocking up to training and playing the mental health card.

The club has bent over backwards to help him but it looks line he has one eye on the door.
It would be disappointing as KK has immense attacking ability (big, powerful, ball skills, even short kicking) but we do have a plethora of experienced backrowers & ones coming through even younger than Tumeth & Mansfield (possibly Galvin & Solo Saukuru move to backrow) not forgetting the potential of Tommy Talau to move there.

If he wants an early exit, simple exchange with Bulldogs dev player in 5/8 Joseph O'Neill (ex Westfields who Wayne Lambkin would know well) would do nicely.

I left the trial just before the last quarter and returned 5 mins into the Jersey Flegg game. Maybe I missed him but I didn't see Him there. As I said hopefully I'm wrong and miss heard the info because I really rate the kid as a player.

Sounds like the Brisbane kid the dogs got. Dirty tactics.
Word is Brisbane screwed the pooch with that one ...Brisbane thought he wouldn't test the waters ...and he did ......they have made the some mistakes with their halves ...needed to show more patience with Dearden as well ...many reports juniors aren't happy with the Staggs at 6 plans either ...unproven still

The club wants to keep Brooks. Sheens made that clear from the day he took in the job… the club is comfortable with a 3 year deal for Brooks, but that is still being negotiated.. as are the $$$… I see it all working out..

You said the other day that we were
looking to get MM released for 2023
and sent the forum into a tailspin lol.
Nobody is buying that MM signing
is contingent on a 3 year deal for Brooks
besides the diehard Brooks luvos smh

plus he gets Brooks sorted and commision with that too. They likely want to play in same team together too so a win win.

Yeah but he can resign Brooks independently. What happens if Brooks agrees to a contract that's commensurate with his last few years, and then he magically becomes Joey Johns overnight? Then Moses has screwed Brooks, and therefore himself, out of a boom contract.

think Brooks wants to be a one club player and also probably not many options on the table for him. Probably keen to play under a Sheens type coach also

Exactly. If he flops again this year/next
he'll get a longer term deal for more
money at another club than what we
would offer him. Doesn't make ANY
sense extending Brooks for another
3 seasons before we see how he goes.
Benji wouldn't cop that either, none
of this passes the litmus test haha

It'll go one of two ways:

- Brooks commits early, has a break out year and cheats himself out of a bigger contract;
- Brooks commits early, for whatever reason continues to struggle and WT are lumped with him for 3+ seasons after '23.

MITCHELL WATCH DAY 266
LOG NUMBER 189

The days are getting longer there is nothing on the horizon infighting has started just who is the best halfback going forward who can lead

Counting the days to season proper is getting hard people are dropping like fly's just what will we do when all hope is lost or if he signs elsewhere there is talk of mutiny
