But most won't be first grade unless injury.

The problem is going by all history over past seasons just about every single one of those players will have to play first grade at some stage due to injuries which inevitably happen to all clubs. Can you truly say that those players fill you with any confidence?
They played like a flock of sheep without the shepherd and his dog

Yes but the 16 others they play with at NRL level are a completely different kettle of fish ...I can't believe that people expected a different result ...ok it blew out late with some stupid turnovers ...but you had to think when you saw the Warriors spine it was gonna be ugly

Easy to claim this in hindsight. Did not see you or any others saying this leading into the game.

Because I had no idea who the Warriors had picked and wasn't concerned because it was a trial .....A TRIAL remember ......
It’s funny how many people claim “it’s just a trial” when we lose.
The Bunnies and Saints use their trial to decide the yearly Charity Shield winner.
The World Cup Challenge is a part of this years trials
The NRL has dedicated prize money to the team who performs the best in this years trials.
Fox Sports are broadcasting every trial live.
It’s old fashioned thinking to state that these games mean nothing and it is loser mentality.

How many points do you get for winning.

Keeping things in perspective, Sheens came in and replaced our pack this off-season, maybe even signed a new half in Moses.
Next off-season we need to sort the backs out who don't fire this season.
He has spent the past 2 seasons on our pathways, by all accounts between 15 - 18 year olds are flying along nicely.
The issue is the group between the first grade squad and our kids, heaps who played in the trial. They will get better with fitness and more time. Obviously Sheens and Benji over the next 2 years will need to start turning them over as well.
We will get there slowly, slowly.

We beat Manly 52-18 in a trial in 2021.

We finished in the bottom four and Manly finished in the top four that same year.

You have got to measure your squad against the teams you are going to compete against - and so far the depth in ours is looking very weak. The best of our depth is no good talking up, if when they get a crack get owned - and that's what it looked like against a pretty ordinary opposition. There has to be a level of concern. Surely if we are serious about improving isnt it time for some home truths right from the get go.That was not a FG standard performance assuming that all those players aspire to play FG at some point in the near future and represent the club.

I'm not overly worried, some of the players on show will be gone next year. To be honest the whole coaching squad is new, and would have seen very little of the lower grades last year. I was surprised that TT and a couple of the others were kept this year, as their performances did not warrant it in my opinion.(and i am often wrong). Probably relied on word of mouth from dummies.
The clubs main aim would be recruitment, which has been great, to get us a decent top side.
No doubt as things settle down, more attention will be on the lower grade recruitment.
