Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Moses got engaged last Tuesday, the rock looks very expensive. Seems an uncanny timing for the proposal and by the looks of the ring he knows he has extra money to spend coming from somewhere. I am feeling extra confident that he will be here.
He will probably be able to afford whatever ring he wants even if he doesn't get another contract haha

yep those two times Brooks kicked it dead is what really held us back last year.
More than two. He gets it wrong quite alot. Trying to put pressure with repeat sets might not seem like much but when your a crap team it's something that needs to be done.

That's just crazy talk....
Every comp needs Villains....The roosters are just the rich pompous frat Alpha Beta boys who need to be taken down a few pegs....
Tigers are the Lambda Lambda Lambda's of the comp.... loveable and plucky
The older people on the forum would know about the Tri-Lambs....

I looked at our top 30 and there’s a few young props there but James isn’t.

Does anyone know if they’re better than him or why he played in trials and they didn’t?

He seems awesome - just curious if peops have seen the other dudes or know why he played and they didn’t

Cheers
Fainu was the hottest young prop in the country a couple of years ago. Was a monster for Freddie's junior Blues in u20s origin. Injury has slowed his progression.
James is a bit of a James Gavet type. Runs hard but suspect defence, hands and fitness. He's still got a lot to improve on but he's currently no better or worse than Fainu.

Whether it's 1.1 or 1.4, you'd imagine the ring would be top notch.

Dom Young's got promise, I don't know that he's consistent enough. There are probably at least 10 better wingers in the comp.

I sort of think the same about their recruitment of Brandon Smith. Verrills was a pretty good hooker, and Smith's huge intensity play usually results in stints on the sidelines and he's a bit up and down.
I think Young has got a lot more than promise. I certainly don't think there are ten better wingers than him. And if he's making huge yardage and scoring long-distance tries for fun at the Knights he'll run riot once he's integrated into the Roosters' system. A lot of people don't realise just how big and mobile he is. It's hard enough stopping him now so heaven knows how much of a handful he'll be once he reaches full physical maturity. Scary proposition.

I think what stinks about the Chooks is, they let these clubs on struggle street pour bucket loads of cash trying to develope talent by bringing kids up through the grades and when a good one emerges, they just come along and pluck him from under their nose.

Dont know what the answer is and certainly don’t want to open up the salary cap debate, but it is not good for the game…but does Peter V care, no he could not give a dam

That's why winning games is critical to ongoing success l.

Have a listen to the Bye Round podcast with Jimmy Graham and Mark Bouris.
They get the players to have sit downs with highly successful business people who can help/advise on making the most of their money during and after footy.

I understand how this might be appealing to some people but I get offered this advice all the time and typically the advice is in my opinion stupid.

The latest idea that I was told about was putting money into a trophy house in the Eastern suburbs. My response was you chuck in for me and I'll take the profit.
