Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Great post @king_sirro

Never saw anything disingenuous, but then as I said, he was easy to like as a fan. You have no way of really knowing character; It's why it's interesting to hear about people meeting sports people and saying "in real life...".

Pointing thing is funny. It used to drive me crazy the way Benji would motion for a player to head back inside! Also looked like he was quickly waving off a fart... 🤪
Maybe Michael Ennis in real life is the next dalai lama

No one said he was an origin player. These are just cheap shots from weak people.
So because people have a different view to you on JH they are weak? no one has had a go at him personally only shared their opinion of his playing ability. Which as a professional sportsman is fair game.

I think a weak person is one who is unable to accept that not all people think the same.

Nothing wrong with having a different opinion on a player, but you don't think bringing up a player that no longer plays at the club just to bag him is not a cheap shot? Nah you're right it's a strong move from a very tough keyboard warrior.

Kent was the one to start stirring the pot about Sheened and Benji not seeing eye to eye on NRL 180.
Yeh, Kent is harsh on them - wasn't saying different; If I were to describe his persona in one word it would be smug. He just always looks... Smug.

I think it was only last season I (finally) came to the conclusion that my feeling the tigers were almost always portrayed overtly cynically was not subjective.

I am SO tired of hearing and reading "... the longest finals drought...". We get it! 🤬

I'd always put it down to my bias, but it just reached a ridiculous level and I really do think the club is criticised by the media at the slightest opportunity.

I know plenty will point out the club did the job for them in the doco... 🤣

In a thread titled Signing suggestions and Rumours, that has over 8500 posts on topics that range from the heading to the obscure, the football playing ability of a an ex player is discussed and you think it’s a cheap shot.
Ok, cool.

the club gives these blokes never ending ammunition.

When u win the spoon by daylight,u deserve to be every journos target
Pretty black and white sentiment. Doing poorly at whatever is not always justification for derision.....

Anyway, the point of journalism is not to inform: it's to garner attention and the fruits of that.

And unfortunately human nature (in a broad sense) shows people are inexorably drawn to negative, violent, shocking information far more so than positive.

So journos are always looking more closely for the next drama at the club coming last/experiencing turmoil at the board level/having players in legal trouble.

Fair or not, coming last does paint a target on the club. 😟
