POLL: Should the club fold and handover/sell the licence?

Being shit is one thing persisting with perrenial underachievers for no good reason is another.

I never thought I'd be interested in the JV in early days... Took me a few years to get back into it.

I feel now I wouldn't care if we folded but like 24 years ago until it happens I don't really know how I'd feel in time, I think we'd all miss our team a helluva lot

We keep playing like this year after year and the decision may be made for us.
The NRL wouldn't care less with results because in reality compared to other clubs we have very healthy membership numbers , healthy crowds, massive widespread supporter base , big TV ratings and always generating media attention via headlines which either positive or negative are a plus for the NRL.
We unfortunately have the most loyal supporters in the game and they know we generate the numbers they need even while our is club abysmal .
There is zero risk with us , unlike other clubs that couldn't survive a decade of failure.

the quicker its handed back to Western Suburbs R L F C the better, spin on that

Because of Wests unbelievable on field and off field success pre-merger? Or the fact that our amazing board is made up of Wests people?

Balmain and Wests are dead as NRL clubs. Perth Tigers has a nice ring to it though.

Never knew anyone that really missed bears or even spoke about them after 5 years
Wonder how many actually followed another team or stopped completely

I have mates that were and still are Bears and Newtown supporters. They have other FG teams they now support but heart is always with their teams. Of course they weren't young kids when their teams disappeared. I expect that age would have a bit to do with how you react to a team being folded.

I recall Norths being where we are now in terms of performance. I played one season at U6 for my first club before moving on. The second junior clubs folded while I was still playing for them. I moved to a third club with my mates for a season and that club was disbanded by the League for inappropriate happenings, I finally ended up with a fourth club that I stuck with through to A Grade. I still have great memories of all of the folded clubs and mates and I get together over a beer tell tall tales about how good the clubs and we were. I will be going back for the115th year reunion of my last club to catch up with old mates even though I don't live in the region anymore. Once it is in your blood it is there for life.

I was a Balmain supporter (from birth apparently) and while I was not happy that the club folded I moved on to support our new team. I still discuss Balmain, and Wests for that matter, with mates when we catch up. My Wests and Tigers mates all became Wests Tigers supporters. If Wests Tigers was relocated I would continue to follow the team; however, if it was folded completely - I would probably follow Penrith as that was where I played my junior footy or potentially Canberra (now that would hurt after 89) as I can regularly get to their games.

Just because times are tough doesn't mean we should fold. Our club may be run by clowns but we are financially viable and have a rusted on supporter base. Adversity builds character and resilience. The good times will come .... eventually.

I'd probably still follow the sport as a general fan. Maybe barrack for the Dolphins.

As it is I get more enjoyment/entertainment out of watching other teams anyway and it's been that way for years.
