Luke Brooks #167

Time for him to step up.......again.
He can decide his future with us in the next few weeks.
Play hard and get an extension, big reduction in price tho, or play like the last 8 years and bugger off to england

Okay so you’re either trolling or just a simpleton. That’s the only way to explain why you’re incapable of holding a consistent opinion that isn’t completely nonsensical. That or you have no spine.

Not that great? We’re first in offloads, top five in possession, line engaged, all run metres top 6 in post contact metres, 10th in missed tackles (down from 4th last year)

Bit hard to make busts when your halfback is giving you garbage passes leaving them flat footed or throwing it half a metre behind them. Try having some evidence next time you spout your nonsense.

So you think he’s part of the solution because he had a semi decent half in one game when we have had our worst ever start in our teams history? Put the pom poms down, watch all the games this season and come back down to reality.
Youll learn very quickly to put Earl on 'ignore'

There is never anything of substance there.

when he puts the blinkers on and gets out of his head, he can play. look at the first half compared to the second. if Luke plays direct and is aware of what is in front of him, he creates space for his outside men. if he doesn’t, it is diabolical.

the bye has come at a terrible time. let’s hope it doesn’t kill off any momentum he had previously.

Jesus H, his apologists are so delusional. A million dollar player who is the attacking lynch pin of a decade long failed team who is paid to do one job had a fair to midlands game yet Brooks had a great game according to his acolytes. I guess playing 1 fair half of a game out of 6 this season means we should sign him up for another decade of garbage. These people need to seek help.

You have no idea at all. None.

Watch and weep. Brooksy is leaving the ladies weeping.

Our forwards haven't even been great. Our middles aren't making busts. IP has been good but not making busts. Bateman has been great.

Brooksy has had a couple of periods of incompetence but no more than any half in the comp. He isn't the problem and on that performance he is part of the solution.

Brooksy !
Seriously?
A few passes that a 10 year veteran should be expected to make and he’s a champion halfback?
Showed absolutely zero of him doing anything good as a HALFBACK.
You conveniently always call him a ‘halve’ rather than a halfback to hide his ineptitude as a halfback.
What the video did illustrate though is what a REAL HALFBACK like Moses does that Brooks can’t.
No one’s whinging about him running or passing … but take the 7 off him and get a real halfback.

The fool literally said that it was close between Brooks and Moses in this game.

Moses:
- 4 try assists, 1 line break and 1 line break assist

Brooks:
- 0 try assists, 0 line breaks and line break assist

Moses quadrupled Brooks total try assists for the season so far in ONE game.

We have one of the best packs in the comp and Brooks is still failing. I guess we’re going to blame the backs now?

The length Brooks fans are going to justify keeping him is honestly embarrassing and shows that they don’t give a rats arse about the team or the clubs success.

Brooksy - breaking hearts.

Brooks
Try 2: - Brooks with a beautiful out ball to Kepaoa
Try 3:- Brooks with a beautiful long ball to set up the try to Naden.
Try 4:- Brooks to Staines to Tupou.

Let's watch it again just to rub it in.

Making fools look stupid in 23.

Imagine being this obnoxiously stupid. It’s like arguing with facts and logic against a toddler. They just stick their fingers in their ears and say ‘lalalala’.

Earl = brooks first, tigers meh 🤷‍♂️

He goes well when chasing the game and it looks like we've already lost (see Bulldogs game).

Him and Doueihi couldn't construct a try with all the ball we had at the start of the game, which is what's happened almost every single week.

Better halves put us in front and probably win us 3 or 4 of these games to start the year, rather than us having to chase the game every week.

I don't think this is a fair read of the game. Our forwards aren't really creating much. They are getting us down the field but not making busts. They aren't getting offloads and even quick play the balls.

You can't rationally criticize Brooksy creativity on the weekend. I posted it a couple of times. It is what it is. Doueihi wasn't bad. Api was good. Staines was good. Bateman was good.

We need another half especially with AD out but Api, Staines and Brooks did enough for the haters to look really stupid this week.

Agreed, the game was lost in the first half when both of our halves were unable to construct a try between them despite us having most of the ball and field position.Late comebacks and still losing the game are not what you pay big money to playmakers for

Just watched those highlights in Singapore for my first view of the match, and based on them we went well, with fullback being our big let down.

Apart from all the tries scored from grubbers, the lack of spacial awareness from the drop out is what almost certainly cost WT their first win of the season.

We would have most of the forum waxing lyrical on Hastings for weeks if he had contributed even half of what Brooks did in those. Perspective.
I don’t think you can bring the whole game down to that one mistake, eg Tupou, who played well, tried to throw that miracle pass which lead to a try, plus he knocked on Brooks short kick over the top.
There are many errors in a game that can lead to tries so don’t think Staines deserved that although agree it was a big moment .

That just goes to show that watching highlights does not give you a real feel for the game because without Staines efforts in the game we would not have made a comeback.Staines and Tupou were our best players yesterday with Api just behind them

True, and that is why I pointed to that being my only viewing.

Still, if one takes the poor from Staines shown there into account, he must have been really good otherwise to even balance that out.

No chance when we give away 20 start every game.

Played a good, safe, strong game. Defused quite a few bombs and ran hard.
His best game for us so far.
