Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Another big game from Jordan Abdull leading Hull KR to their 5th straight win. Hull are coached by Willie Peters, the victim of bullying while he was at Manly. Get that up ya you filthy silvertails.
Sheensy you have to get on the fax to Abdull. We need him. He's big, confident, has a big mouth, a kicking game and makes great passing decisions. He can run too.

Just finished a night out in Darwin, a few of the broncos' boys were out and about. Ran into Billy Walters, seems a top bloke wished the Tigers well for the season and hoped I had a good year as a supporter. Bittersweet as it's yet another player of the majority who have left the tigers and improved greatly. People go on about high profile recruits, but our culture needs a reset desperately. However that may be.
I think that his father would’ve always got the best out of him. He would have had conversations about his game over many years aswell as hearing thoughts on games if he was the coach. So glad he’s holding his own and not just there because of daddy though

Abdull is a solid super league player and thats it. He doesn’t have the fitness for NRL level (has never been fit) He is so inconsistent within 80 minutes he wouldn’t handle week in week out NRL.

What I find interesting -
Every off contract player gets some media hype around their future.

Past few days it's been Jack Wighton, before that we've had Moses, Munster and Brandon Smith speculation for ages about what they may or may not do.

There is no hype around Brooks future.
No reports that... will he go here or will he go there?
It's crickets.

There's no "Brooks was seen at Canberra airport today, or meeting with Ricky at a Woden coffee shop"

Nothing.

He has been playing like a guy who knows his future is sorted - doesn't need to impress or aim up, as there is no uncertainty.

It feels like the club has already got the paperwork sorted and Brooksy isn't going anywhere, set for life - one club legend.

Just how it appears to me on the surface - I hope I am wrong.

For anyone that watches cup and flegg
Of the halves we have in the ranks which ones are a controlling half and what ages are they. From reading on here kade hill sounds like he has it but people seem worried about his size and is 21 now ( read on here so might be wrong) so if he’s not close chances are his opportunity is gone
Large while sounds gifted and might debut young as some predict doesn’t sound like a controlling half
If we don’t get anyone from outside in the interim and if brooks,Wakeham and Laurie don’t resign which one would you promote for next year

I don't claim to have extensive knowledge of the juniors, but I think Alex Isdale the controlling half out of the youngsters. Conti has a good boot on him for a kid and has had a habit of owning clutch moments in games over the years. Not sure about his ability to stay in a game as a director. I notice Isdale do it more than Conti. I think both are 17.

Nope, you are right I’d say.
Club defends him even though we are 0 & 6 with a good pack.
Inevitable he will re-sign…

Just seems like it may already be done.

The Brooks to Raiders stuff - couldn't even find a mention of that on the Raiders forum. Imaginary rumour mill.

I think if any club was silly enough to ask for Brooks they would've been informed he isn't available.

Sad state of affairs.

Sounds like someone trying to put 2 and 2 together, and coming up with 5.
Everything I read/hear/see about Brooks is a nightmare, now I am starting to question whether the problem is him or me ?

Canberra would be a good fit for Brooks. Not too far from home considering he has never lived or played outside of his childhood area and now with a young family. Stuart is also a good coach for him enough nuture with a tough edge and has a relationship with Sheens that might help with the transition in getting it done.
I can see it as a definite possibility and might also appeal to Brooks who may be over the constant criticism and prepared to have a crack a testing himself somewhere else - away from Sydney but not too far.

It would be Sheens ultimate revenge to sign him to the club again on big money until the end of 2027.What worries me is he just may do it

I don't like Ricky but the man's not an idiot. I'm sure he owns a telly and has seen Brooks play.
