I think Blore has a good future as an NRL top 17 regular, but he’s a bit one dimensional, would be nice to see him add a jink or a step when he runs the ball.
Nice try he just scored off a Laurie short ball.
On a side note young Manly centre Fletcher Myers looks to have some talent, maybe try an immediate swap him for Talau ?

Good win by the Magpies. In the forwards Mansfield was good, Matamua won't be long before he is a nrl regular, Seyfarth is all effort all the time.

Laurie showed a lot in his first game at 5/8. Heavily involved, defended well, made a good break through the last pass for a couple of tries, moved the ball quickly and was always talking - needs some more time in the position but I liked it more then I thought I would. Nofa was busy and ran hard and worked hard which was great to see. Sakuru is a big lad and dangerous with the ball but needs to be fitter - reminds me of Talakai but struggles in defence because he isn't fit enough. The rest meh

Laurie's defence surprised me. I always thought he would struggle in the front line but he was strong and willing. May be different with proper first graders running at him all game.

What a disappointing performance. Really there weren't any good performers, everyone showed why they're playing this level.

Nof was shocking. Maybe made 3-4 runs. Looked like he couldn't give a stuff, swap him ASAP.
Laurie also rarely involved. He made a bust off a 2m forward pass, but did manage to play pass the parcel a couple of times close to the line to put someone over.

The guests forwards weren't involved enough, defence was soft up the middle from everyone. Likes of Matamua, Webster Mansfield didn't make enough runs. Blore a one dimensional prop, but was solid.

Smith playing halfback was interesting, his kicking game was much better then Brooks'.

Both sides were average but you look at Manly and despite having DCE, turbo, Schuster, Koula in first grade their spine in NSW cup still includes to prospects in Weekes, Fainu and Humphries. How I wish we had talent like that but we stopped recruiting for lower grades years ago

He's probably a prop rather than a second rower

Just some observations from the NSWRL coverage ...

Ogden / Boyling / Roumanous / Will Smith - great NSW Cup players. I hope we can maintain them with a NSW Cup contract next season too.

Saukuru - I'm liking his development. If he can keep working on his involvement and concentration, he could develop into a real powerhouse centre who has some speed & footwork.

Laurie - good 1st game at 5/8. His stats read well and I loved his involvement & way he was revving up the boys in huddles. I just wish he would do everything at speed, he seems slows to a canter when determining his options in attack which doesn't cut it in the NRL. Hopefully he gets a good run at 5/8 in Cup before any promotion back to NRL.

Seyfarth - I agree with others that he could become a very good linkman lock. I feel he has something if we persist with low level contracts in top 30. A big pre-season in the gym working on his leg power with Papalii & Pole would help immensely.

Mansfield - coming along in leaps & bounds. Just needs a solid injury-free run in NSW Cup in the same position to keep developing.

Blore - great performance to build his fitness. Everything you'd want to see.

James - has potential as a bullocking prop but would like to see him wind up more in his general hitups (aka Spencer Leniu) and work on his concentration to cut out the regular silly brainfade.

This game left me excited about Mansfield & Saukuru, content with Blore and eager to see how Laurie continues in the halves.
