Signed a new Contract with Manly after they sacked Des. Sipley is not coming to the Tigers folks.

The fact that they were fullbacks meant that they supported more than the average centre, but they controlled their corridors to perfection. They did most of their damage out wide. They did play like centres, albeit in a hybrid capacity.
I am starting to think that the over reliance in having a perfect spine is encouraging too many cooks in the kitchen. Rampaging centres are a perfect foil for mediocre halves and thats what we have and likely will continue to have for a couple more years yet.

They were awesome in that game. But it was a rep game with no salary cap. In club land you are not paying two centres like those two given centres are stuck in a third of the field and don’t take the early carrys like wingers do ( I know centres do take such carrys but not with the same frequency as wingers).

Yes you are correct.
What I am saying is, change the paradigm and aim for the next superstar centre combo.
7 of the 13 immortals were centres. How did we let that position become so pedestrian?

Centres are the least impactful position in the game and if we let Talau go and then have an injury we’d be able to get an adequate fill in via Kepoa, Staines, etc. not a perfect fill in, but adequate for this season given we’re not winning the comp and building for the future.

Like Tallyn Da Silva Josh Feledy is highly rated by the coaching staff. Wouldn't be surprised if he gets a go should injuries happen.

We didn’t let it get pedestrian. The game changed. The players got way more athletic and could cover more ground for longer. Then coaches worked out it was better for efficiency to split centres (and others) and keep them on one side of the field. So the field effectively became smaller and you didn’t have centres passing to each other. All that space that centres from previous generations had to look amazing was gone.

Yes they did and they steralised the product as a result. The game is far more boring since it 'evolved'
I cant stand this left and right BS. I want us to play footy and if we did, defences wouldnt cope because they are so robotic they are almost on auto pilot.

One thing I know for sure is that these things can turn on a dime. Woodsy was basically a lock to come here this season and now he is at Manly. Pray to whatever God you believe in or if you are an Atheist like me pray to all of them that Woodsy is never coming here again in any capacity other than a paying supporter at the game.
