Watch Schuster closely, he no doubt has plenty of talent with ball in hand, but he’s slow and lazy. No way in the world he will be an NRL 5/8 for too long, he will be back in the back row before he knows it and even then he plays too lazy to be anything like a marquee player.

Makes plenty of tackles and doesn’t miss, willing to run the ball at any time, he’s a big body that makes decent post contact metres and a constant decoy runner when he doesn’t get the ball.
Add he can pass and use the ball well when required.
He’s the one who should be replacing Joffa and we are off our heads if we do not value and keep him at the club.

Joe only re signed last Sept till 25 on good coin. He wasn't going anywhere.

And the reason he wasn’t in the top 17 early On in the season was because he was recovering from a injury

Nofa said before the game last night he was looking forward to seeing his mates from Melb. Storm.
So maybe we can lend him to Melb. again this year if they are interested, and in return they may have a decent 1/2 or 5/8 they can lend us, as we helped them out when they were desperate last year.

Hey guys and Gals API gets a long time out of game broken jaw in two places, referee penalise culprit and puts on report,
But judiciary already heard his case and have found him innocen of anything.

This bumper bar up stuff from a player with the ball has to stop as it's a bloody bad joke.
As another poster has said...if a defending player tackles someone with their forearm up like Tino did to Api, it would be an automatic send off.
It's completely stuffed WT season and it's completely stuffed the little bit of enjoyment I get from watching my team every weekend.

Re his defensive efforts yes he works hard but he is often 3rd man in which leads to compressed defensive structures that teams have exposed (darts at dummy half) and penalties/set restarts.

I can see why people like him because of the effort but his output just isn’t NRL standard.

He is 24, played 37 games and averages 38mtrs a game (this year he is below his actual NRL averages across the park at 34mtrs a game). He played 17 games last year and just hasn’t kicked on. Time for us to move on.

If we want to play finals he just isn’t a bench player at NRL level and he isn’t a NRL starter either.

He doesn’t want to do the hard yards. Refuses to take any hit ups and doesn’t really want to defend. Is effective 10m from opposition try lines but that’s about it.

Looks like a prima dona and doesn’t fit the mould we are trying to build of a hard working, front foot team.

I’m obviously watching something different or people are still judging him on how he played in the past.
What I’m seeing is a new improved version of Alex Seyfarth who is now clearly the dominant forward on the field in attack and defence every time he plays KOE Cup, even when opposing players who are capable NRL players such as Tofoa Shipley etc ..,
When he plays NRL I am this season seeing him run onto the ball as hard if not harder than any of our other NRL forwards, he does not get man handled or pushed back and makes decent post contact metres.
I’m seeing him make plenty of first contact dominant tackles, quite often two and three in a row when defending our line against the Raiders, this was badly missed when he was left out against the Titans.
I can’t even remember the last time he missed a tackle or made a handling error, so he has fixed up that part of his game.
He can now also pass and use the ball as good if not better than any of our other NRL forwards.
The reason he’s only making minimal yards stats wise is because he’s only getting minimal minutes on the field, play him for 80 anywhere in the forward pack and he will run for over 150m and make over 30 tackles every day of the week.
Not forgetting his decoy and support runs when playing NRL are constant, something our regular forwards are badly lacking, our forwards run the ball one out with no support far too often.
Every team needs a big red, every team needs a local junior who plays with heart and soul, Seyfarth gives us both and should be in our NRL top 17 playing 40 minutes or more every week.

I think sheens is/was happy to destroy last year/this year as his aim is for benji’s take over year. The thing he doesn’t understand is that the quality pack will be on the down turn or left because they are sick of playing with the constant depletion in the quality of the rest of the squad.

If we are being fair dinkum, so does the rest of our NRL forward pack most of the time, so why are they all excused from being scrutinised.
Not one of them would have busted a grape against the Titans.
The one forward we have who runs hard every time is Asitasi James and they don’t select him for NRL for some reason.

Having a look at our team I think we need 3 players for next season , and one player I would like us to sign , so here’s my 3 , and I want class , so we need to spent good money on these 3 .
We have great strength in the front row , KLEMMER , stepo , pole and twal so no , players need there .
Backrow , papa and Bateman all class , but I would love a work horse backrower , to take the pressure of the other two .
But my big spent is on a class lock , we really need one
Then what we all know what we need is a 1/2 back who can get us around the field .
I think we can get by with what we have in the centres and wingers and bula picks himself.
How for my jack in the box , can cover fullback , wing and centre, is bevan French , he is a player with great speed and just makes thing happen , with these 3 or 4 I think we could be a top 8 next year

I find it hard to see where the stock will come from , our reserve grade are rubbish and we are not that flash in the lower grades , 6 players to improve us , They Will need a big plan to fix this

In NSW Cup performances agree with you he is performing. Maybe he just needs a break out moment to build off. To date he just hasn’t converted. Some players are gods of nsw cup and for whatever reason just don’t transition. I don’t see him being successful as a bench player his style of game is more set and build but he isn’t a NRL starting prop level either currently.

At NRL level this year with ball in hand he has struggled, you can’t argue with that it’s reality. It’s like he just doesn’t balance himself out effort wise defensively to offensively / trusting other players around him. He is having his least effective season to date at NRL level with ball in hand when our forward pack is one of the more dominant in the NRL.

I do think Sheens isn’t using him well.
Madge in 21 used him well and I saw positives to build off but then in 22/23 he just hasn’t progressed.
