Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I really don’t understand the hate for NRL360 and Hooper on here. Anything they say about the Tigers gets said by the fans on this forum every day. It’s like it doesn’t matter if it’s true, they’re just not allowed to say it, only we are. It’s bizarre
I mean, this would have to be 3rd "rift" that has developed over the last 2 months. Remember fox and friends claiming that benji and sheens were in a rift not even 2 months ago? When you have articles targeted at us, telling players not to sign with us, you have to ask yourself if maybe there is a bit of an agenda going on, particularly with fox/the terror.

I'm not suggesting that there's no truth to anything reported by these media outlets, but on the flip side I think it's fine to question the validity of these articles/reports.

“I love my job as an assistant coach and I’m looking forward to learning more off Tim this year and in 2024 and excited to become the head coach in 2025 and I’m not walking out anywhere,” Marshall said.
“That’s the end of it!”

- Benji in the Telegraph today
Sounds like they texted him and that was his short sms reply.

Who is with me on this?

Swap Jake Simpkin (off contract 2024) with Brayden Trindall (off contract 2025).

On the Sharks forum, there has been fan discussion that hooker depth is the one area they lack in with only Brailey, McInnes (lock) & Berrell (NSW Cup standard & now off contract) their only options.

Seems a fair trade to me. Simpkin will get far greater opportunity there.

When we were winning, it was silence. Dragons getting plenty of air time. Roosters now getting some pot shots. It comes with being a basketcase at the bottom of the ladder. Win games and the negativity goes away.

Fair call, but I do think a lot of nonsense is published about us. Agree we just need to start seeing some success to shut these Journos up.

Did anyone really think the hottest 18 year old in the country would be given permission to talk to other clubs and that we'd be the only ones talking to him? seriously..?
It would always be expected that numerous other clubs would throw their hat in the ring, but that our connection via Fulton, Sione, and a number of other boys that he played with in Matts and at high school and the prospect of being the next Benji while being tutored by Benji and being close to his family would be enough to get us over the line, alongside a bumper deal
To add More to your point,

Im getting really concerned about the possibility we are being screwed again,
those photo's we were shown were two photo's of misery personified, wheras you would expect a very satisfied smiley face if you had just been made a huge offer to secure your future????

But big question becomes why are they willing to take Brooks $750.000 who has done very little in our club for years and allow the best 18 year old in Rugby League to leave Manly.

You would think if this kid is as good as we are being told.
Manly would be keeping him and forgetting about loser Brooks.

This does not make a lot of sense, the only reason I can see for Manly to let him leave, is because they have an out of control kid that they just dont want in there club anymore.

Whats going on, is it going to be good news, or down the line the worst news we could possibly want.

Fingers Crossed Everyone.

Fair bit of hysteria and intolerance of uncertainty on the forum when it comes to Fainu. I get that we have been burnt many times, but It's more complicated than the deals with TT and Brooks as they were both off contract this year. I can't imagine Manly are playing ball considering its an ex-employee driving it. Wait and see how things play about. If we don't get him, then start slinging mud.

As far as Fox Sports slandering us, what's new? Wish people would stop giving those parasites oxygen.

How will he get more opportunity behind an 80min hooker with a coach that plays a 4 forward bench (no chance to steal some lock minutes) than playing behind a 65minute hooker with a coach that likes some back coverage on the bench?

More chance of challenging for the hooker role there. Plenty Sharks fans don't rate Brailey either. Soon Jake will be 3rd in the pecking order here.

What's it say?
I've lost it now (too much of a boomer to find it again), he retweeted something about moving out of your comfort zone to help grow and knowing when it is time to move on.
Maybe I read too much into it :ROFLMAO: 🤷‍♂️

Sheens quote today sums up the Wests Tigers recruitment and their ‘strategy’.

Having let Joffa go he says

“Something will always fall out of a tree”

Also says,

“We aren’t worried about that (next year) anyway we’re worried about the next 10 games and getting away from the bottom of the ladder”

Might want to tell the club that Sheensy. We’ve gone into self sabotage again.

Typical political speak from Sheens, talks well delivers bugger all.

Wests Tigers fans love putting the boot into local juniors who pour their heart & soul into the club, so he’s probably better going elsewhere.

What's it say?
He quoted a tweet along the lines of 'sometimes in adulthood you need to change your environment to stimulate the growth you want'. One of those philosophical posts and he just added a handshake emoji

I've been as excited as anyone with the possibility of signing Latu Fainu going by the media hype that he is one of the best talents to come through Harold Matts & SG Ball in the past however long and watching a couple of his NSW Cup games.

Then the disappointment sets in with the talk that he may not come to us at all with the Dolphins rumour (following the previous Titans & Dragons rumours).

Then I think, well maybe we already have 17-18yo halves who will turn out to be just as good if not better in Lachlan Galvin, Heath Mason & Alex Conti. Looking forward to the National Schools Champs starting this weekend to see what they can do!
