Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Doesn't have any of our junior halves. Galvin is with Isaac Moses & Heath Moses with Aria/Matt Desira. He does have Da Silva & the Laulilii brothers.
thanks BWG ,need 2do my own research but it seems from chats on here Tartak could have a strong hold on the club if the kids all stick around,if thats good/bad ?

Yes... but so long as people accept the very real possibility that (a) changing the upper management does nothing, or (b) changing the upper management derails the current strategy and we go back to another rebuild.

In other words - I'm not saying don't do it, and it definitely hasn't been done recently, but don't complain in 2-3 years if we are not fixed. When you get down to the final argument of "it's the only thing we haven't tried" - that by definition means you have arrived at probably the most risky and least logical move, a scorched-Earth mentality.

For example, what happens if there really is a factional split between Sheens and Fulton? If you oust Pascoe and Lee, you might find Sheens takes control and sidelines Fulton, and it might actually be Sheens who is the core of the current problem (given that we ousted the previous coach on his advice). It might actually be that Scott Fulton is the one who is going to drive new and key changes within the long-term strategy.

Also accept that the Board is extremely unlikely to step down and really what fans are gunning for are the bishop and knight pieces on the board.
I have no faith that the current rebuild that upper management is overseeing will be any more successful than the previous 2-3 they have overseen in the last few years

Anyone who is an advocate of Brayden Trindall please comment on his defence.

I haven't watched a huge amount of him, only highlights which shows his attacking brilliance at times but on stats his missed tackle count this season is very concerning!

Now if it's a big weakness, is that the type of halfback we need or are we better served with a solid, no-frills, organising type with good defence aka Tanah Boyd, Adam Clune, Jack Cogger sorts???

This is what did it for me. There had been a noticeable change in positivity in the players this year, even early in the season when we didn't win a game. Then we win 3 from 4 and things start to look promising. Yes, Api and Brooks got injured, which has hurt us, but the decision by Lee and Pascoe to not communicate with coaches about bringing Fulton in was just plain stupid. Add to that management not being on the same page as the coaches about Luke Brooks and once again there is disenchantment and negativity in the camp. This is why I signed the petition - to analyse the performance of senior management at the club.
This was also the time Sheens & co told Joe O to pack his bags. Which do you think has more direct impact on the playing group?

If we are going to sign a nsw cup halfback then my suggestion is Ben Stevanovic. Leading the nsw cup comp in try assists, 2nd in line break assists plus 8 tries himself. He is a former Tiger who was in halves when our Flegg team lead the comp before it was stopped for Covid.

He has taken a bears team with no nrl players to 2nd on the ladder

Whilst we are at it. Lets but Peter and Karl. We can get mass media coverage. Now - that's good business.

Stevanovic has been a revelation for the Bears this season after struggling with the step up to NSW Cup playing for the Wests and then Blacktown last season. He is Balmain to the core but I can't see him returning to the club. Anyway, happy to see him deliver on the promise he showed as a junior even though I think he'll always be just below NRL standard.

He was a real surprise last week. He must be a late bloomer.
I'm sure he'd come back. Kids on the fringe like him would grab n opportunity to play NRL anywhere.
