Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Sheens record certainly speaks for itself.

Before this season he hadn't coached in the NRL in over a decade (because no other club is that stupid) and out of his previous 15 years coaching in the NRL he made the finals 3 times.
that last comment sounds really good 2day

As bad as things appear to be can't let WTs existence/future be determined by the actions of incompetents. They including Pascoe long serving board members and Lee H - have had ample time to show that they are capable of managing a successful NRL club and have failed. There position of power has enabled them to scapegoat others.
The media stuff is embarrassing but if that is what it takes to put pressure of them to leave or fall on their own sword so be it.

I know it's great entertainment for those that believe everything the clickbait heroes print.

But they get it wrong way more often than not. Tucker's view on Fulton's relative power in all this should be read 5 times until it sticks. He's one part of a much larger machine.

There's probably elements of truth through it all. Benji & Fulton have probably clashed over a few players- Brooks being an obvious one. This Cogger vs Sezar makes no sense as Cogger has (if you are willing to believe the journos who are driving this) already rejected the idea of coming to the Tigers.

To quote the Great Orange One- False News.

Sheens has, for some time, said they were chasing "an experienced half". Looks like they got one. That doesn't seem like a deviation from the plan to me.

On one hand we all applaud the stopping of the leaks. Then we all go into nuclear meltdown when BUZZ & CHAMMAS start saying there's a 'feud at the Tigers' and managers apparently are moving players away from the club.

At least argue consistantly. It was always because Pascoe was Satan reborn. Or Lee couldn't stop talking. Now it's because player managers don't trust what Benji is doing for PLAYER DEVELOPMENT.

Just to clarify- the same club that has brought through Bula, Pole, Tupou & Da Silva into 1st grade & just put 2 players into the U19's SOO. Weird. That actually smells like player development- but what do I know?

What I'll say- it seems most of this recruitment issue with 'the vision' has come about post Fulton & Tartak. Which smells a bit like Tartak trying to get those 2 Fainu boys as much coin as he can bleed out of the club. The Fainu's, by the way- 2 players that Fulton recommended & Benji agreed to- so obviously a big clash there between those 2..

Lastly- it was ORIGINALLY reported that Ray Hadley suggested Fulton to the Tigers FO.

Now apparently Mario Tartak was responsible, according to these unbiased news reports.

If Tartak took Fulton to the Tigers, and then turns around & says "oh by the way- we don't believe in your vision now"....that's a Tartak problem. Plenty of players in the NRL. Move on.

I feel sick. don't know where to even begin. I think this is our lowest ebb, despite everything that has happened in the past.
Well some people wanted the club to be burned to the ground and start again, like a phoenix from the ashes - this might be as close as we get.

No mate. I honestly will not support another character assassination at this club. It’s very clear to me who the problems are and if they keep acting selfish and treating coaches as the fall guy I’m done. It’s time for real change in the club or it’ll be change for me.

Thanks for your kind words if they were sincere.
Meant every word BAGNF05 👍

I'm hoping everything's being blown out of proportion.
Oh it's almost certainly being blown out of proportion. Wouldn't sell as many subscriptions if it was proportional.

There's every chance Benji and Fulton are having a meeting just to iron out any disagreements and attempt to put a cap on the information being leaked. Of course it could be more than this, could even be explosive, but currently it's pure speculation and the official quotes with names attached aren't saying anything particularly negative.

It's very clear that someone or somepeople are leaking information to the media, and I'd be trying to get to the bottom of that first.

But like sharks with blood in the water, the papers want to stomp all over this. It will be a million to one that both papers don't do another write-up on Monday.

I've been saying it for a while, Feathers and Abdo need to step in now, sack the board, And install NRL administrators
NRL doesn't have the right to do this. At most they could revoke the WT licence but they can't sack the Board itself.

At most they could coerce the Board to make changes based on the threat of losing the licence, but that's simply not going to happen. Not without some kind of financial implosion or fraud / criminal activity.

Absolutely. Hopefully another nail in the coffin for Lee & Justin.

Just sharing what I heard

I assume bc benji basically is the coach

That’s what’s been alluded to

Sheens is there to “take the bullets”

Also benji went to the meeting with the Fainus … not sheens …

This “interim” bullsh*t is confusing everyone

Bc as you say “who is the coach?”

It’s a cluster f&@“
If you have Lee’s and Justin’s number, can you ask them to step down for the sake of the fans. They have ruined once a proud club

When were we a proud club ? We have been shit for virtually our whole existence - even when we won the comp the actual club was so broke we couldn't pay the full cap. Before we merged we were 2 of the worst clubs in the Comp for 10 years. I'm not sure they have ruined it just continued it and if anything at least they sent us from poor and crap the well off and crap which at least provide potential for success when they go.

Yea, ah... That's actually a decent record.
Sure it was twice with Canberra, no wait it was 3 times. (89, 90 and 94).
Seriously though its pretty irrelivent, Ok Tim Sheens can win if Laurie Daily, Mal Maninga + Lazarus and a bunch of other superstars are in your squad.

You watch those early games and you see a fullback fumble the ball regularly. Its very different football.

Origin shows the Generation gap between Fitler and Slater. With Sheens we see a massive generation gap on a good coach. Hopefully Benji can get what is going wrong here but we need John Morris or similar to up the training level.

You've just suggested Sheens is not a good coach. What makes a good coach? I'd suggest being a very good player manager, a strategist and being able to impart knowledge to players. Sheens more than ticks the boxes in these areas. What you're suggesting is ageist based. I am not willing to comment on this issue but what I do know Bula is just another fullback in a long line of very good fullbacks to emerge under Sheens. I posted Sheens' comments on Bula during pre-season and he was 100% correct. Is this coincidence?
