This is what gets me with fans. If the Tigers had let this drag on, and we were still waiting on a decision- we'd be blowing up deluxe calling them incompetant. If Brooks had signed? There'd be riots that the club had stuck with the 'dud' even though he's hopeless. Instead, the Tigers don't outbid themselves, they put a timeline on after it drags out, and Brooks signs for Manly for more than the Tigers offered.

That's how I saw it, he denied the deadline because he was assuming reed ment that we had only given Brooks 3 days to look at the contract, once he realised he made the wrong assumption he clarified to Reed that the deadline was given after about a week of Brooks receiving a new contract. How long are we supposed to wait. I agree with the board on this one. Reed kept saying is that how you treat a guy who stuck with the club for 10 years. I would have told Reed it was the otherway around, it was actually the club paying this guy for 10 years on potential and getting nothing in return so he was lucky to even get an offer.

Kind of funny. I watch footy to get away from politics. Might as well suit up Klem, Api, Bateman and Brooks and put them in the boardroom and put Benji, Lee, Pacoe and Sheens into jerseys to play Saints.

I'm miffed that the giant Cowboys loss means we miss out on Spoonball with the Dragons, because we'd have to win by almost 60 to avoid the spoon, which is not going to happen.

Makes me wonder about WTF happened in the first game against the Cows. How did that happen??

Just rewatched it and thought he did ok, answered every question and at least gave an
“ official version” of all the rumours.
His comment about not recruiting, or going after, anyone without the Head Coaches approval seems to fly in the face of what we are hearing, but that may be a narrative Tim is pushing after McDonnells demise.
Onward and upward I say, at least until the next fracas.
But first things first, let’s win Spoonball on Thursday. Waiting with anticipation for team announcement today.

I think I could see it a bit more as an innocent mistake if it was from someone else. I just can’t trust anything that comes out of his mouth.

If someone demanded an offer inside 24hrs, It would be a given you'd expect a timely response to the offer...
The deadline was imposed after Brooks had the offer for weeks (After demanding it be presented inside 1 day)

I think we're crazy to let Brooks go, But we were only ever fuel for a better offer....

Let’s think about what you’re saying and look at possible scenarios.


1. Brooks management on day one of negation gave the club 24 hours to put and offer in


Or


2. The club kept moving timelines, not keeping with deadlines and brooks management had enough and gave an ultimatum.


Which one is more likely?
