The key point being “whilst we are valuable to the NRL”… I don’t think we can assume that will automatically continue …. People‘s interest is diminishing in the team…7 wins out of their last 40 odd games…too many other sporting options around these days …

I want them to survive long term …but they are in desperate need of a few years of modest success… that probably looks like a season or two that isn’t all over by the end of May…

I think so too and I feel most in the organisation can see the writing on the wall. Wests Tigers I feel are on the verge of ceasing to exist. People are just using it to bolster their specific interests. Wests Ashfield is getting NRL funding, Lee is getting Brydens publicity, Pascoe is probably trying to make his CV look better financially so he could get a job as a CFO or something for another code or team.

Robbie has probably mentally checked out to look after his businesses. Sheens fulfilled his wishes of coaching for the final time in the NRL.

I actually feel for Benji because I think he is taking it seriously but is way too naive to understand that he's in way over his head.

Bar some miracle, some very shrewd recruiting or possibly let's say even a very unlikely scenario of Bula and Api playing some killer footy together - I can't see this JV surviving.

I can't see us winning more than 5 or 6 games a year for another 5 years.

At the end though, no matter how big of a loser this team is, we will keep going to games, keep tuning in, keep clicking on Fox/Nine/SMH/DT articles. They'll keep making money, club will keep selling scarves.

Winning will never really be a priority.

My sentiments as well. Your final three sentences reflect something I said a couple of days ago.
Each year we seem to drift further into decline. I don't know what it is, but whatever, it's slowly killing the club. I suspect it is disparate factions or individuals within the board or broader management that are incapable of redressing their differences.
The Club now being openly laughed at in the media doesn't seem to have an actionable impact on the administration.
Somebody within our club knows what is happening but either cant or wont act to change things.
