Not true. Your take.

If some younger people don't care about the identity this club is forged on others do.

And the rest of us only follow this club due to the legacy clubs. Mightn't be important to you but it is to others.

As for @TieDye and @Tim Sheens comments re a Wests v Balmain thing or @cochise mentioning the Magpies supporters are pushing for a return of the Magpies...this in untrue. Over the last few years on this forum fans from the Magpies side of the JV are not welcomed with the same enthusiasm as those from the Balmain side.

Most move on.

What most from the Wests side want is no dilution of our identity within the JV.

At least I don't bother posting under multiple accounts trying to chip away at the edges.

Many have called on here fo the club to be just called the Tigers playing out of LO.

Call out a post of mine which pushes for that type of BS in reverse.
Where is the Magpie Magic here?

I was not suggesting all Magpies supporters are doing this, the only time I have ever called out Magpies supporters is when individual supporters have done so.

Anyway, I am over people trying to turn this into a Balmain v Wests thing. This is my last reply on the subject.

I was born into.a magpie life but since I met you guys I became a tiger. I got the best of both worlds. I wouldn't of been able to do it without all you beautiful folks here.

Well,

When confronted with so much BS this forum is parroting lately gotta set the record straight.
Your not, you seem knowledgeable and fair minded.

But surely from your moderating days you've noticed the BS on here mainly from Balmain legacy fans holding multiple accounts.

When have I pushed that bullshit.

No one said younger people don’t care about the Magpies, my dad is an old Magpies supporter which is how I started supporting WT’s & I even acknowledged they are apart of our history in an earlier post.

My issue is with old Magpie and Balmain fans turning every little issue into a battle between two clubs that don’t exist in first grade anymore & how one side is right & one side is wrong. People wanting change on the board isn’t an attack on the Wests Magpies it’s people wanting a change for the shit show that is currently Wests Tigers.

A change on the board could unravel the JV which the HB group is trying to preserve.
Benny, the wiggles, Harry or a wealthy private owner who is a legacy Wests fan or Perth mean the end of the Wests Tigers.

This is what some want.

This is what some don’t get.

Wests probably wouldn’t have gotten into the NRL this century without Balmain and the merger, and Balmain similarly for more than a decade without Wests helping their survival.

So it's 1/1, a marriage, even stevens, you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours etcetera. Who gives a shit as long as we all, old, young and in between, including fans of either or both former clubs, along with those that only know WT, have our team to support, or even choose to petition against.

Anyone that wants one to prevail over the other can [This word has been automatically removed] right off.

On paper - Wests would have not survived without the Balmain Tigers.

One simple thing I thought of was to stop wearing Tigers colours to games. Doesn't hurt the club's bottom line but is a pretty obvious message.
I wear my 2009 jersey for that exact reason. No Bydens banner for me until changes are made on the governance & structure of the club. I won’t be purchasing any current merch either for that reason as well.

I want to make it clear that the board in its 'current form' is failing and they dont have my support.

But I find it very hard to believe that you as a Professional Counsellor would not have plan B in place when you are trying to solve a client's problem in case plan A fails.
So obviously imo, the same applies with the action you and Cochise as the main signatories to this petition are taking against the board currently.

I dont like to admit it but I dont trust Cochise to have the best interest of all WT fans at heart.

I believe over the years he has been one of the chief head kickers if not the chief head kicker, in relation to any Wests Magpie fan that has come on here and spoken positively about the Magpies, even though he apparently knew rite from the start that the NRL owned the WT title, and the name could not be changed back to Wests Magpies.

That to me over many years has shown and still shows a total lack of respect for ex and current Wests Magpies fans and could be the reason why there appears to be so few Magpie/WT fans on here relative to the number of ex and current Balmain Tiger's/WT fans.

And with that in mind I believe you and, Cochise in particular, are being evasive [avoiding the issue, not straightforward, intentionally vague or ambiguous] as to what your intentions are further down the track if this current petition fails to gain your desired outcome.

If I have misjudged the intention of this petition or any further petition or action, and an agreeable to all outcome is attained, I will be only too happy to apologise.

But atpit I choose not to sign your petition.
It is of course you’re right not to sign the petition. I have, I think I was the fourth signature. It’s time for change around this Club’s governance, structure and processes.

I would think the petition is the first step. I have no affiliation with the club other than being a fan member. If nothing is done then you can rest assured this old Magpie Supporter & Balmain Junior will be ramping up the pressure. I can see several options for plan B, C & D.

We have already lost a generation of young supporters coming through. We cannot lose another. You won’t see many teenagers or 20 somethings wearing Tigers gear at games.

An external review is a first step in the process. The Holman Barnes Group would put themselves in a precarious position if they refuse to act.

The things that get under some peoples skin:

"Oooh waah waah he said he wants the team called tigers and play at LO...😭 "

seriously
Doesn't get under my skin. It's not something that'll ever happen either.

But that wasn't the point.

Point is stuff like this is brought up like that on here......by legacy Balmain fans.

Never called out.

When have I pushed stuff like that in reverse in a attempt to dilute Balmain identity.

There are double standards applied on this forum.

Here is what I think might be a rough broad outline of the response the petition may get. Now everyone can dissect it and add specific ideas/ questions so that eventually there would be a working document to utilise in any meeting situations.

“We thank all those who took the trouble to prepare and sign the recently received petition for your passion and concern about our club.
Let me say that EVERYONE in the organisation feels devastated by the way the past few seasons have played out, this being despite the Board and Management plans to try and improve the on field performance of the club.
I think we should focus our attention on that part of the organisation, because as you would know, our off field activities continue to be strong and are getting even stronger. Our CEO has played a leading role in those developments and , as such, has the Boards support, as long as we continue to evolve and grow.
The on field performance of the club has been, and still is, most distressing. Despite personnel changes in coaching, recruitment and pathways, whilst there has been flickers of light, overall it has been very gloomy.
Looking at what has happened since the parting of ways with former coach Micheal McGuire, we embarked on a major NRL recruitment campaign to try and identify a suitable candidate and bring them to the club. Of course this proved unsuccessful, for a variety of reasons, so a new plan was put forward to utilise existing resources ( former premiership winning coach , Tim Sheens) coupled with 2 new assistants ( both former Tiger greats, Benji Marshall and Robbie Farah).
This would eliminate the need to look outside and enable a coordinated program to recruit suitable new players, build strongly on our junior pathways and have it all managed in-house.
Of course, whilst this looked very workable on paper , it has not transitioned into on field success. We were able to welcome some highly rated players to the club, but a wretched combination of injuries and poor form meant that it became almost impossible to get our best team on the paddock.
We felt it necessary to conduct a review of our playing personnel in late 2022 and early 2023. This related in several players who were deemed unsuitable to the club, moving forward, being released. This was done with a view to securing highly rated players in key positions to strengthen a core of experience that could be supplemented by emerging, talented juniors.
Once again, we were thwarted in our recruitment efforts and in the end we fell well short of requirements in key positions. We did, however, feel confident that we could retain certain key players to take us forward.
With the increase of teams in season 2023 there have been fewer senior players in key positions available for transfer. This has caused quite a deal of angst amongst the Board, Management and Coaches in their recruitment efforts, and led to the Board making a decision to bring on board an experienced and highly regarded recruitment executive who could utilise their expertise and contacts in giving us an advantage in recruiting exciting new players.
As of now, this is still work in progress , however, following recent Board discussion, certain players in key positions have been identified as targets for recruitment.
These include both senior and exciting junior players that can add to the Wests Tigers playing group and translate that to on field success.
We have the utmost faith in all our people and reiterate what most of you will already know, that Tim, Benji, Robbie and David will continue into 2024 as our coaching team but that it is not an open ended contract.
We all expect results and the Board will continue to monitor and review any suitable additions or changes, at all levels within the club. As has been mentioned many times recently, we value our fan base greatly and are most disappointed at the frustration caused by both continual on and off field disappointments.
Rest assured, every minute of every day is spent looking at all parts of the organisation making us a club that our fans are proud of, and other fans are envious.
We ask you to keep the faith, know that everyone is listening and that internal auditing of all facets is being undertaken on a very regular basis with special attention to any major issues, should they arise.
Thank you again for your passion for the club, and we hope you will see major positive changes in the coming weeks and months that will lift us back to the upper echelons of the NRL premiership, where we all feel we belong.
Go the Tigers.”

The petition and any other further attempts to destabilise the club will be fruitless.

And the majority of Wests Tigers fans are disappointed at the process attempted to effect improvements.

Have you read the petition? There isnt a preferred outcome, its for a n independent review. An independednt review could result in changing the name to Magpies for all you , I or Cochise know.

What the hell would Cochise stand to gain from a petition instigating an independent review of the Club? Cochise and the Ambush guys have probably totally burned all their bridges with previous very good connections to Pascoe and Management to their own detriment. hard to work out how Cochise and the Ambush guys would benefit. Cochise and the Podcast guys have invested more then the signature that the rest of us have invested and it blows my mind that anyone thinks they are doing it for selfish reasons.
