Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Jesse Marschke would be a brilliant addition on a 2nd tier contract.
One of the rare halves that takes the ball to the line at speed and asks questions of the defence. Stevanovic would be good also, but Marschke is the key player in why the Bears are going so well.
The last thing we need at the moment is 2nd tier halves. We have some really gun halves coming through from juniors. With Fainu and possibly Sullivan joining, the last thing we need is lower tier halves roadblocking these kids who will be brought through into Cup in the next 12 months

So the forwards going well? No concerns there?

Can always improve but not the main concern for me. Sure we are missing a tackle breaker and a ball playing lock but no tackle breaker will cause havoc with an ineffective halves combo or backs who cause concern.

We are top 6 for plenty of key indicators which are based off the forwards but come dead last in most when it comes to creativity & converting hence halves and centers/speed are concern for me

Sullivan? From the dolphins? Have I missed something

We'll need depth & experience and NSW Cup contracts enable this. Don't see them as a roadblock, more as mentors who will move to the bench or Ron Massey if our young guns warrant inclusion.

Let's say hypothetically we start 2024 with Sezer & Sullivan in the halves, then we could give Latu Fainu some good experience in NSW Cup as 5/8 with an experienced head (i.e. a Dean Hawkins or Kurt Falls type) inside him. Latu and the Magpies would get more out of that then a Zane Camroux.

Bulldogs in for Sullivan.

Sounds like they are changing their plans on the fly. Their salary cap must be a mess. Faitala-Mariner given permission to leave. Oloapu brought in as the next great half. Now he's going to be a lock. Sign Sexton. Now Sullivan. Are ANY of these guys actually improving their team?

As much as I expect the Bulldogs to get it right, I think they are way off at this point.
We get panned by the media, but imo the Bulldogs are far worse. We can't find people to take our millions and are relying on kids and lower grade players. The bulldogs have spent like crazy to fail.

It annoys me that the Bulldogs continue to not have trouble in the market, and actually can attract some decent signings. Whether they are the right signings or not...

Meanwhile, we continue to struggle.

A couple of talented kids who may or may not come good in the next 2-3 years isn't all that exciting right now. With what they potentially have in front of them (starting spots), it was a no brainer for them to use us as a stepping stone - like countless others have.
Who of note have the Dogs signed recently?

People are actually championing a removal of Pascoe and replacement by Robbie Farah? As CEO???
Are you fking kidding me??? The CEO lol.
This world has gone to absolute shit.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
GTFO of here….
Only at the Tigers would we oust an incompetent ceo and replace him with one of the boys with absolutely no experience. We will no longer be the Titanic. We might become oceangate.

This is a recruitment & retention page, who cares who the CEO is ?
The chairman told everyone last week how recruitment & retention works and it has very little to do with the CEO.
Anyone who seriously thinks players think twice about who the CEO of a club is before deciding whether to sign with a club or not is delusional.

that's why a guy like Sezer is a good idea for a couple of years. can steer the ship around in the meantime while Fainu and Sullivan develop both in and out of first grade. ideally we get both Sezer and Sullivan wrapped up plus a utility type (Weeks, Watson, Mann) and ensure that we have depth and competition for spots across the halves, as its led to our downfall this season.

It amazes me how the Roosters get rid of Mitchell P and replace him with the best half available at the time. The tigers don’t re sign Brooks and need to look at the reject sales basket. Nothing will change for struggling teams while this remains entrenched.
At the same time they replaced Mitch with the best half at the time they also signed Tedesco, but nothing to see there.

I suppose the rest of the business will just run its self. Farah is under qualified, we need stability to right the mess the club has become, we need someone experienced like Richardson. Not another quick fix experiment. If Farah wants to go into the admin department great he can go get experience somewhere else and come back in about 10 years.

We seem to be stuck with the boys club.
What boys club ?
It’s a very simple equation when a team has missed the finals for so long and now sitting on the bottom for two seasons straight, along with not showing any attacking flair except for that one game at Leichhardt against the Cowboys, it becomes a very hard sell for most players to be interested in signing with Wests Tigers.
There are many theories on how to get out of the rut, some think changing the CEO and Chairman will Instantly make all the best available players come here, what a load of crap.
The only thing that will make more players keen to jump on board is better results and some attacking play that shows the team can score tries, unlike the crap we have dished up for the majority of the season.
Everyone knows we need new & improved halves. I’m not convinced anything from the UK can help us, that competition is atrocious, their best teams would not win the NSW Cup or Qld Cup.

Well written. Also they may pay heed by watching our leaders play next weekend. With gusto and heart. Like they are playing for themselves and their fans that come out to support them.

Exactly. Give Robbie the job. Has restaurant experience.
