John Bateman #268

[Vicious]

Don't worry about our cap mate I think we've only spent about 10% of it for next year because Pacoe's destination club is like a hotel in Baghdad.

Yes if we don’t obtain at least 6-7 decent quality recruits, we will be a bottom end Ron Massey Cup side.

[TigerSJ]

Don’t think Bateman is one of the key problems. He has looked better on the edge than at 13 and even Sheens realises it now. We don’t have the type of 13 Sheens is trying to manufacture at the moment.

Had one in Hastings but he didn't wanna play there unfortunately.

Good luck with that. Can't win if you can't attack.

Makes me sick that a player like Trindall at the Sharks can't get a go even though the sharks are ordinary at the moment and we have these guys playing that position.

How long do we have to put up with this clown for? He is terrible.

He isn't terrible or better put he isn't always terrible. He is a small backrower who is inconsistent.

Rubbish. He is a victim of our coaching & the random decision to move him to lock. We had finally built some edge combinations & they moved him to lock where he was making 50+ tackles a week for a month straight while playing 80 minutes in the middle. To me he looks burnt out.

He is also here for 4 years on big money, another one of Tim's stupid moves

Unfortunately Coach Sheens has a long record of playing players out of position and rarely listens to any criticism

Let's wait and see what happens. I hope he comes good.

We all hope he comes good and he started off fine however recent form over the last few weeks has been poor

He is a good player , Sheens has done a job on him again like others , he needs to be a edge back row , and stay there , team selection is at will at present ,
we need Sheens to move on and let Benji make the calls so everyone can se what’s doing

[TigerSJ]

Bateman needs to stop trying for a hail mary play every time he gets the ball. He should focus on playing tough and running straight and cut the crap!!
