Just to follow up on your post Y, Gibson played once for NSW so wouldn’t call him a star player and I’m sure we both saw Bennett play and he wasn’t anything flash either.
I repeat what I said that being a star player doesn’t necessarily translate to coaching ( but eg.in Bozo Fultons case it was different, great player, great coach.

Just keep talking. In the meantime real teams be doing the walking. Cleary wasn't flash. But Walters was a little flash.

Begins for this year with Kikau , Mahoney , Addo Carr , Burton ,Burns Tevita Pangai ,Perham and now on to Sutton , Crichton, Salmon , Taafe ,Xerri , Liam Knight Sexton ,Oloapu ,Pele
How on earth do they do it ?

Because they are not promoting or pursuing anyone within their own junior base. They are also releasing / have released almost everyone signed prior to 2022.

Just read a few posts about NZ and Rugby Union !
Most countries are good at whatever is their most popular code of football
UK and most countries its soccer
Australia its AFL in the southern states and Rugby League in Nsw and Qld
South Africa and Argentina its Soccer
NZ is the only country in the world where Rugby Union is the No 1 code
They ought to be good at it !

Does anyone honestly believe that if Benji was coaching the Broncos this season, without doing this so called coaching apprenticeship that everyone likes to fantasise about, that the Broncos would be doing any differently?
Of course it’s only an opinion, but I see no way possible the Broncos would be doing any worse if Benji was their coach.
The point is don’t worry about Benji’s credentials as a coach, give him a chance ti put a decent side together and then judge him.
I will say though he might need glasses if he really believes Aidan Sezer was a better option than Jack Cogger.

I get the point we treat our pathways and juniors better and it would be great if we had a half a dozen superstars who have come thru our ranks to Nrl level or when we uncover a Tedesco or a Moses or a Papenhausen or a Addo Carr or a Korobete what happens !!

By then its too late. Look at the history books. Good call. Those superstars move on. However the Fainu brothers signing contradict my post. Im all ears right now.

Wests Tigers started the year with replacing Garner , Musgrove , Liddle ,Tuilagi and a few more with Klemm ,Api , IPaps and Bateman which was a bit of an upgrade but its not even close to what the dogs are doing
I'm positive I've forgotten a few dogs recruits on top of the 16 I've listed .
We are dead last and main reason is our roster sucks
We hire a " Master Recruiter " called Fulton ( who bags Benji )
Its been months now and we've got a couple of youngsters with little or no NRL experience for 2Mill each that's not a hard sell .
Is it "no news is good news " because we've stopped the leaks or is it no news because dozens of approaches have been met with rejection because of our image .
We are now selecting teams for the next round by including some who have failed time and time again probably because we have few options
Maybe the future is just Bleak but they can't admit it
Last few rounds should give Feledy and Reilly a go but please start recruiting

I think Bellamy has been such a good coach his playing career is a little taken for granted....
Averaged 15 games a year for 10 years

Bellamy played 150 NSWLRL Games,
And while careers at polar ends of the spectrum, Wayne Pearce played 192, Blocker 185....
150 would be seen as not a bad shake for that time period.

And he played most of them behind Stuart and Daley in the half's and I remember he played a few game's at centre but he was behind Big Mal and whatever other superstar the Raiders had at the time
