Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Yep, or possibly Fulton thinking he needs to keep talking to the boys.
...

No one in Tigers should be talking with Braith Anasta.

Honestly how can that guy even mention our team with his performance here. I mean sure at the Dogs and Easts Anasta really performed. Yet every Bulldog supporter rue's kicking Thurston out instead of Anasta.
I know right, he never has a good thing to say about us, yet fails to mention the 2 years he stole our money doing nothing.

His team mates didn't help. They all missing in action. For a few years now. No one following Api. Has to do it all himself. Biggest signing since Benji.
A fellow called Brooks is terrific for passing a ball, and stopping, DCE Will love him in the Manly side, cause his game is based on his team backing him up, doing this is not a part of lukes game, Api needs his help but wont get it, most of the team think oh well I ran 4 mtrs now I will pass the ball, my job done.

Can anyone confirm how many squad numbers are available for next year? I'm sure it's in here somewhere but I can't be bothered to sift through.

Zero tackle has 25 signed for next year (including Da Silva). With Feledy, Galvin and Faagutu being upgraded takes it to 28. Thinking Ataisi James is probably going to be upgraded this year which would make 29. Am I missing anyone?

Hardly room for an "aggressive recruitment drive". From rumours it sounds like at least Simpkin is being shopped.

Consistency comes with experience. I view Utoikamanu as our future captain. Even at such a young age for a front row forward, he has the ability to dominate a game whereas more experienced props will never have that talent. Also with our juniors, to debut in a struggling team is a test of both physical and psychological stamina. It is much easier imo for a junior to debut in a strong team so when we make comparisons this needs to be factored in. In the long run, this baptism of fire will serve them well.

If there was one player available to lead the culture at the club I would chose Luke Lewis. We missed out on him not by much but I consider he would have changed completely the mentality of the club.
Stefano's issue is his consistency in terms of his aggression when he runs the ball - some games you can tell he's just in the zone and every run he makes has intent... then there's others where it's nowhere near the same intensity.

There also should never be a game where he has under 10 runs and unfortunately over the course of the year he's averaging 10 runs a game. At his quality he should be making 15-16 runs a game with the intensity we know he can provide. Take last week for example that's what he needs to do consistently.

Whether it's a fitness or mental problem - if we can get that element fixed we'll have a top 3 prop in the game easily.

I'd say & hope aggressive also refers to the broom through some of our contracted players namely Simpkin, Nofa & Kepaoa to clear some room for the right type of players to improve our squad.

Just reading Holbrook looking like he’s going to Easts as an assistant, put a line through his name.
Interesting because Voss said he’d heard he was going back to Warrington for 4 years. Just means that most of us don’t really know wtf is going on.

So an 18 year old who's played 2 games of flegg is too good and needs to start eventually, but the player whos's been starting and doing well in first grade has work to do?? Right...
The modern day fullbacks need an all round game like Reece Walsh and Scott Drinkwater, very hard to see Bula becoming that type of player.
He is however a very good and fit athlete who would be very well suited to the centres or the wing.

I heard he was UK bound as well I thought....

??? He manages Conti …. Of course they should be talking to him

Question on the Aggressive Recruitment Drive

Little Man Lee has been in hiding does that mean we have signed up some players of quality or that we have sign no one and out of sight out of mind is a better place to hide ?

Still waiting for the good news
He's been MIA since Cavanagh had a crack at him.. Exposed him for the BS artist he is

Remember Dylan Edwards in his first few years in the NRL? He was so far from having an all round game that no one rated him, myself included. His now biggest fan Michael Ennis continually called for his head if Penrith were to be any chance of competing. He worked super hard on the areas he needed to improve, and he did it while playing fullback.

Bula's starting point is miles ahead of Edwards, so we need to do the same thing. Stick solid with him, and work hard on his game. All he needs to improve is his ability to engage the defense before passing. He has everything else. He will get better at that, I have no doubt.

Absolutely absurd the talk about moving him.

First post in this thread is regularly updated^.

I’ve got 27 for 2024, Faagutu not confirmed to be entering the Top 30.

I agree but we have to wait and see how they develop. To'a is another guy with a lot of potential.

I stated Stef needs to become more consistent as well.

We need our junior start players to become senior star players.

You look at a guys like Reece Walsh or Tabuai-Fidow. These guys are 21 and some of the elite players in the game already.
I am glad u pointed out they are 21 , now they have been in 1st grade since they where 19 or so , so this is why I can’t see why young fainu can’t step up next year as he will be 19 , if good enough our old enough

That is my expectation.

He‘s everywhere. Roosters, Knights, us, England.

Do you think that was the correct call?
No, based on most of the decisions this year it was high contact to the head, on report and 10 in the bin.
But I heard Klein say it was deliberate and he( Brown) left the ground to deliver the blow, so I guess it was slightly different to a lot of others.
