What I don’t understand with all that resent Lee Hagipantelis is Wests Tigers can potentially be worse off without him.
I understand he’s arrogant and not a real likeable person, but he puts plenty of money into Wests Tigers and is so self indulgent he will do whatever he can to help the club become successful on the field.
If he ends up quitting due to the constant backlash from fans, we then need a new backer which would be extremely hard to find and it’s every chance the club will be worse off.
As a diehard fan, I’m happy to live with an arrogant chairman knowing he will put his hands deep into his pockets for the betterment of our team.

Personally, if the club was not a a complete train wreck of a football club, I couldn’t care less if he played dress up and went on every media outlet he could buy his way into and make a complete fool of himself.
Unfortunately the club is a train wreck. About to collect both another spoon and another coach, nuking another 5 year rebuild.
His money and “pull” have done nothing but diminish the brand even further and his position is unattainable. The only positive thing the Hat can do for wests is resign. If he takes his money, ok. Club existed before him and will exist after him. I’d expect, after some time and distance between the club and him, they could attract other sponsors.
First step, he has to go. Stop the bleeding.
They take everything on face value, out of touch with reality.
Any true supporter should forget about the past and appreciate what is being done to try and make us become a much more successful team moving forward.
There are still massive challenges for 2024 as we have around 6 players taking up top 30 spots who I’m sure the club would like to move on based on 2023 form, but when contracted it is not that simple as they can only be moved on if another club is willing to take them.
For that reason alone it’s likely 2024 will be another tough one, but if we can keep our most valuable players including our best youngsters moving forward, then we should see a massive improvement from 2025 onwards.
What can or could the chairman have done about this ? In reality next to nothing as our board like every other NRL board bases it’s recruitment & retention on the advice of the coach with assistance from the recruitment manager 99.9% of the time.
The board stepped in and signed Scott Fulton as our new recruitment manager hoping that would be a positive step in the right direction. Obviously they should have notified Sheens, Benji & co before doing it, but realistically what difference would if have made as Sheens wasn’t going to agree with his mate getting the flick regardless of whether he was told about it before or after.
Then Benji & Scott Fulton having differences of opinion over player recruitment is standard process which happens at every club, it was only made a big deal of with us because we are an easy target based on our position on the ladder.
By all reports the board stepped in, told them both to sort out their differences which seeming has since happened.
I think you are underestimating how easy it is to find another backer to the extent of what he puts in.

Being a sponsor shouldn't just give you a seat on the board. They're still sponsors for next year in any case.
Given the huge number of teams Bryden sponsors i find it hard to believe the amount is that huge.

At a time the club is on its knees. If he takes his money what’s the worst that can happen?? We know how bad it gets when he’s involved, time to start looking at life after Lee.

How many fans have turned away because of LH/Pascoe. How many memberships, merch, gate takings etc…
How much $$$ have the club lost in poor recruitment, coach payouts, not making finals?
To me the only money the club seems to make is selling home games. Pretty short sighted business you’d think.
All in my opinion Mr. Lee. Please don’t sue me.
The vast majority of criticism direct towards Lee is based on our lack of on field success.
What can he or the board be expected to do better except hire better coaches and recruitment managers ?
I certainly thought Madge was a good choice at the time and I’m still very optimistic Benji will be a great choice moving forward. The endorsement from people such as Wayne Bennet and Cameron Smith only strengthens that argument. As mentioned above, he shouldn’t be judged on 2024 as there is still quite a few roster spots being taken up by players he doesn’t really want and cannot do anything about until their contracts expire.
Maybe some of our supporters need to start putting their money where their mouth is.
If 10 to 15 thousand supporters committed to becoming or renewing as full members/full season ticket holders if LH and JP were replaced, the argument tk get rid of them could be taken much more seriously.

If he’s backing the club, then he sure is s$&t getting nothing back on his investment. His tenure has been an enormous failure. He blew negotiations with at least 2 marquee players because he could not keep the hole in his face shut. He’s an embarrassment to the club.
