Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Just saw a tweet from an apparent regular spectator at our NSW Cup matches with the handle sweetmagpie.

They apparently overheard Sheens on Sunday telling someone his concerns over a player he thinks will be a 'star forward' signed for 3 years who won't turn up to training & the coach doesn't encourage them. And Sheens referenced someone wanting out. Not sure of its legitimacy but is a regular WT tweeter.

Could this be either Chris Faagutu or Jordan Miller?

As much we we ideally want ti keep all of our best up and coming players, we cannot be blackmailed into signing them all to top 30 contracts before they are ready,
Too many young players now expect the world before they have even proved themselves against men.

agree with this…

we need more proven first grade players in the Top 30… not lottery tickets that might come good in 3 years time

The club in question is Melbourne & the centre is Olam. Bellamy really wants him is what i've been told.
That’s what I would of guessed, big of him ti give us a centre he doesn’t want?!?
Look I don’t want to get rid of BLORE as I think he’s on the up and has a higher ceiling.
The only way we should consider this if it’s a swap for Pezet, take it or leave it!

Once he works on his defence a bit more he will get a chance I reckon. I wouldn’t say he’s the answer just yet.

Haha why would reilly go back to ra ra when he’s still contracted next year 🤣🤦🏻‍♂️

Great debut as well.

Olam would be a good signing, how old is he though ? I’m sick of us signing good players on the end bit of their careers.
Olam looks great at the drizzle but would look like trash with us, not worth it!

The way I see it, Olam is a physical demon! Loves the contact, and would be an incredible signing considering he was the best centre in the world only a few years ago! But one player I wouldn’t be giving up is Shawn Blore. He deadset has the makings of an Origin player in him. Blore should be in the starting team and playing lock next year! Give him 60 mins in the middle, he would dominate the ruck. Very physical in contact, never shirks the tough carries, great post contact yardage and a super offload in attack. Can run a line on the edge as well. He has the footy IQ that a lot of the players in our team don’t and I reckon that’s invaluable. Craig Bellamy knows all this, it would be foolish of us to let him go!

Shawn Blore info I got off a mate who is usually on the money

Fulton told him he’s not wanted and to look for a deal.

He found a deal a month later for same price at a much better club

Met with sheens and benji who had no knowledge of fultons plans. Release denied

Club in question really want him and have offered a centre in exchange

Not sure what’s happened since and I don’t know which club or which centre
Was this before he went up a level or after

John Morris's would have to be odds on now to be Benji's assistant.

The South Sydney Rabbitohs are set to part ways with assistant coaches Sam Burgess and John Morris after a dramatic day at the embattled club.
Twenty-four hours after the Herald revealed that the two assistants were trying to hold head coach Jason Demetriou to account for what they perceived to be special treatment of Latrell Mitchell and Cody Walker, the club is set to inform the pair their services are no longer required. The exact nature of the separation between the pair and the Rabbitohs is yet to be made clear.

Rabbitohs powerbrokers were locked in meetings for most of Tuesday, where it was expected the club would finish the rest of the season without Burgess and Morris, leaving Ben Hornby as the club’s sole assistant coach for the remainder of the year.
The final decision rests with the board, which is meeting on Tuesday night.

The swift action followed a Herald story on Monday night that revealed there was unrest surrounding the treatment of superstars Walker and Mitchell, amid accusations the duo wield so much power that the coach wasn’t holding them to the same standards as their teammates.
The Herald reported that concerns had been driven privately by members of the club’s coaching staff, with Burgess and Morris aligned in their concerns over how Mitchell and Walker were being managed.

The article triggered further investigation by the club on Tuesday, which is set to result in Burgess and Morris being placed on gardening leave for the remainder of the season. The Herald does not suggest any wrongdoing on the part of Burgess and Morris.
Burgess, a club legend given his heroics in leading South Sydney to the 2014 premiership, has signed a deal with Super League club Warrington as their head coach from next season.

Morris was off contract at the end of the season and has been linked with a return to the Wests Tigers as Benji Marshall’s assistant next year.
The Herald tried to contact Burgess and Morris on Tuesday afternoon but both their phones were switched off. South Sydney officials didn’t respond to calls.
Earlier on Tuesday, Demetriou apologised to his players after it was revealed he liked a social media post ridiculing two of his forwards after a loss earlier in the season.
This masthead reported on Monday that some players were made aware Demetriou had liked a comment from a fan on the club’s official Instagram account criticising the performances of departed prop Liam Knight and back-rower Jacob Host following a loss to the Raiders in May.

Demetriou told this masthead on Tuesday morning he did not realise that he had liked the comment and had spoken to Host to inform him that it was an accident. He has since returned to Instagram to unlike the comment.
Demetriou’s relationship with Host goes back to 2016 and the pair share a close bond. The Rabbitohs coach was quick to apologise to the back-rower on Monday night, informing club officials that he did not deliberately attempt to disrespect his players.

Let's hope we can get Morris to WTs' asap.

Further to this, with a full pre-season & playing consistent impact middle next season, Blore is my bolter for SOO calculations.
I reckon it was to get schuster here . Blore sneakily told to look elsewhere , creates the opening for schuster . Only he wasn’t anticipating the backlash . He didn’t realise how loved the guy is .
It’s probably what brought all this angst to a head . Fulton told to pull his head in , he thought his role was different to what it is .
Took Benji to the wall , and realise one guy is Bozo Fulton son the other IS wests tigers … the end I guess .

Coluld have been talking about schuster at manly?

If they've really just sacked Morris and more importantly club legend Burgess 2 weeks before the finals that's as bad as anything we've ever done.
I imagine Sam would have a lot of support in the playing group.
We can only hope it leads to a widespread escalation within the bunnies' playing with Cameron Murray, Alex Johnston and Campbell Graham all requesting immediate releases to join WTs.
