Stadium Plan

But that’s not the short term plan is it . Hasn’t it already been stated we want to play Magic Round in Brissy, Country game in Tamworth and split the rest of the home games between LO and CS.
We’re lucky to get av10,000 at CS and maybe av12,000 at Leichhardt so, at least for now, can’t see them playing more games at CS.
That may change in years to come and will no doubt be dependent on funding.
But the 24-25,000 we will get with our home games in New Zealand should more than make up for any shortfall.

Wests Tigers have a tradition and we will not be walking away from 5 home grounds anytime soon.

And then someone says this about the side “ Most Magpies fans attend the games because they sleep in the carpark on a permanent basis and wander inside to brush their tooth and have a dump.”
Can you think of a better way to attract Wests Magpies/Wests Tigers supporters to our matches.
They are there on the spot and will attend every game at Campbelltown.
No transport worries to and from the ground, less pollution from not having to drive to the ground.
We'll just have to build a larger car park to fit all the happy campers in.
We'll make $$$ from their o'nite parking fee and Wests Tigers/Magpies will go down in history as the 1st NRL club to make a significant contribution to the housing shortage.
If this doesn't attract fanatical WT support, nothin will.
A truly great suggestion member850 👍😊

Get used to the LO v CSS arguments returning next year.
Such a great job in uniting the club in 25 years. Awesome job Wests.
The problem is most Magpie supporters prefer Lidcombe.
But around the Cambo area is where the huge islander kids are and plenty of them.

Reckon WT should employ an independent consultancy to look at options LO, CO, Homebush (?), anything else possible in catchment area and have a whole lot of criterion against each option and then present the best case to the club and the club publicly agree beforehand to go with it (and be prepared to work with the fan base which a significant percentage will be upset). We have to get to having 1 (one homeground) and then make it our fortress.

Shared grounds with other leagues clubs within their catchment dont work as long as they are allowed to lay claim to them eg Commbank Stadium is Parra's and is Sydney Stadium, Roosters, immaterial of the supposed shared nature of its use. However I feel shared grounds are the best way forward to provide good facilities inc transport but has to apply for all metropolitan Sydney clubs as a plan to work to and the NRL put their weight behind it.

It should have been done after 05 when interest in the club was sky high. Now they just kick the can down the street for the next guys to make the tough call. Problem is the current guys aren't going anywhere

Last night on Channel 9 I heard the upgrade of the Panthers' Stadium would not go ahead as projected costs had tripled.

That was only ever in the pipeline because the previous LNP government was pork barreling in a desperate attempt to stay in power by keeeping marginal seats. It is not a shock to see a new government ignore a promise that never should have been made as the ground didn't neeed upgrading

Delivery costs out there far too high, much cheaper to Leichhardt ! 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞
I don't believe there is any justification for expenditure on football stadium reconstructions in this economy. Limited uprades of toilets and seating yes.

The Campbelltown COE should be our priority for the youngsters in the South West.

I get the feeling the arguments of stadium v traditional ground will revert to LO v Campbo again.
Only by baboons mate ! Cambo can and should be the main home ground , simply due to the fact it will get the resources pumped in eventually to build a decent stadium .
Leichhardt is the festival / nostalgia/ cultural event to spotlight all the good things about our supporter base .
Both are essential to our growth and status as a club. Dinosaurs on here who cling to the old ways are just the worst .
We might as well argue which team is better Glebe or Annandale , such is the relevance in 2023 .

5 + 5 at those two are better than nomadic existence of the past few years.
Still playing magic round ,Tamworth and Easter Monday at Homebush. They did the lest they could. Hopefully the corporates are happy with the drop of facilities.

be surprised if we play the bulk of games at CSS in the future, crowds do not attend. The junior academy needs to be built at CSS to capture the juniors for the club.
LO redeveloped will be a big hit for crowds and close to COE. LO also gets plenty of use with junior sport and schute shield etc
Look here is two problems with Leichaert:

No Corporate Boxes.. Easts love to have big high flyers come and drink Crowns (Premium beer ROFL) and do corporate waste of Money. We should do the same, Leichaert has no place or facility for this at the moment.

Transportation isn't the best. It's city overcrowded.

Macarthur/Campbelltown is the clubs future if we choose it.

Corporates involve having access to food and drinking unless you live near Campbelltown it's a long way to Uber.

I can't understand playing at LO when Homebush and Moore Park are nearby. And that will probably stop any major funding going to it aswell. We won't grow there.
