Stadium Plan

Leichhardt games are attended by the latte sipping crowd who turn up because it's an event. It's a bit like Mardi Gras.
Campbo fans are real league fans who've been neglected. They won't turn up until Wests puts in a real effort to connect with the area. They're not interested in going just for photos for their Instagram like the Leichhardt toffs.

Try spreading that round at Leichhardt oval and see how far you get. You'll be sipping your Jim Beam through a straw.

12000 last game at Leichhardt - hardly packing it out like you suggested. And thats why i called BS on your post.
Still 50% up on Cambo. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see it packed out there but LO has a long tradition. There's still a lot of people who grew up in the inner west still living close by. I moved from Balmain to Drummoyne, so it's still a walk home for me and I still see the same people that were there in the 70's, blokes I played footy with. The groundsmen at LO played for Leichhardt Wanderers and one of their fathers was a Tigers great. It's a tradition.
Campbelltown is a relatively new region, it's not Lidcombe or Ashfield, so it's going to take time. I think the Homebush/Parra thing is the worst thing they've even done. Cambelltown should have gotten a lot more attention.

Lol what a gee up.

I Remember when my son was in Primary school (Nofo's old Alma Mater where he dun graduated the 6th grade) they were giving the kids free tickets when accompanied by a paying adult at Cambo.

I can only recall that happening once or twice though. I would like to think that at the very least kids playing junior footy for Wests would be getting that sort of a deal, if no one else.

But you are 100% correct in that the infiltration into the area by those filthy Souffs scum is totally disgusting and that may have kicked on with the relocation of some of the indigenous community from the Redfern/Waterloo areas to places like Rosemeadow/Airds in the Campbelltown area particularly over the last 20 years or so.

there is little doubt that Gus' mob are just as scummy and would no doubt jump at the opportunity to get a foot hold in the area.

It's amazing how many people in the South West support teams other than Wests Tigers and you couldn't help but think that Ashfield had given up on the area when they closed down the local Roar Store in Macarthur Square, which no doubt would have been unprofitable, but I would have thought would have been of value as an identifiable presence in the area.

It would seem that there is only limited co-operation between Wests Ashfield and Wests Leumeah from what little I know about their relationship.
Zero cooperation Im pretty sure

I think the club needs to push the NRL to have day games at Campbelltown. Just my thoughts but L/O attracts a “boys night out” “event” type crowd and CSS attracts more families. I go to both venues and I won’t take the kids out on a night game. CSS is one of the coldest stadiums I have been in (I know sounds stupid) but I find the cold of night there far colder than anywhere else. The dew on the ground is really heavy and forces an ugly, grinding, non attractive game. To be honest I would be happy watching them play in a cow paddock if they won

Most Magpies fans attend the games because they sleep in the carpark on a permanent basis and wander inside to brush their tooth and have a dump.
