Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

it's a pretty simple scenario I feel re: Galvin. providing Marshall sits him down and ensures there aren't any concerns or grievances then I think he'll be fine. honestly I don't even think there's an issue, it just comes down to who his manager is.

I don't think it's that deep. He still has a few
years to run on his contract and is still a few
years out from his debut anyway. The Mole
making a mountain out of a mole hill here.
He has 13 of some of his best mates playing
for the club as well, wanting to move cause
of Sheens resigning when Benji was going
to coach in 2025 regardless is hocus pocus.
He's committed to us, all that really matters.

It's because Moley has a love affair with Sheens

Agreed. I don't think the issue is Galvin it is Moses. The rumours started after we signed two young halves who may become difficult to displace if they play well here. Then the longer the school boy season went the more Galvin's reputation increased, meaning he would be gaining the interest of more and more clubs. Moses would be looking to cash in on this interest with either an upgrade here or a higher offer elsewhere.

When I do a job around the house my wife will always give me "advice" halfway through on ways to do it better. I always nod my head and politely suggest she should wait until I finish and then tell me what she thinks of what I've done.
How about we wait until the recruitment job is done before we behave like screamin' sheilas.
i watched them do a job this year, didn’t turn out so well

I don't think that Twal and Seyfarth should continue to be lumped together as if they are the same player, they really aren't.
Twal is very solid 1st grade prop. Seyfarth is a maturing middle/edge forward who is way more raw and still needs time to develop.
IMO they let Seyfarth go because they see more potential in the younger guys, IF they let Twal go it's because he doesn't fit the game plan moving forward.

Twal has been on onver 500k for a few years now, going up to 550k next season. Sure he tackles well, but he's otherwise pretty slow, doesn't make a lot of pcm, and isn't overly skillful. For teh price he should be delivering more.
If we could keep one of Twal for 550k or Seyfarth for 200k i'd keep Seyfarth. Or negotiate Twal to a deal covering more years on less yearly salary.
Who the hell thought Joffa was worth 600k and Twal 550k?!! Who made these decisions and when are they getting sacked (if they haven't already)?

Seriously, this sounds like A-grade horse manure. Kid would barely know Tim Sheens. He may be talented but he’s already coming across as extremely high maintenance. I’m not saying him personally necessarily, could be his manager, but seriously what teenage kid with zero senior football experience or even a game in Flegg wants out because a geriatric coach and a recruiting guy get moved on? That’s ridiculous. If this is a manager thing, club needs to dig in for once.
The kid is fine, outstanding prospect.

Agents are toxic.

270k 23 upgraded to 500k 24 and 25 (according to the Australian).
Klemmer 400k this year (but its an iffy 400k given it was part of a swap deal in which we are also paying Hastings 150K at Newcastle). 650K 24 and 25 according to fox or 850K 24 and 25 according to zerotackle.
We got Klemmer for less than 400k this yeah and next. Great bargain. Paying him more in 2025 and 26 if option taken up.

Yeah I reckon given Galvin's form in recent weeks as Australia's #1 schoolboy, he is probably being enquired about by numerous clubs including Manly (Warren McDonnell). McDonnell would know what contract he's on at WTs so could have said to Moses that Manly will offer more.

Heard from a pommy friend who is involved a little bit with Wigan that we are looking again at getting Morgan Smithies
We were interested last off-season too. He's a lightweight lock/backrower who is a tackling machine, aggressive & full of effort. I'd be interested if he can play hooker as well as a potential utility like a Bayley Sironen.
