Agree we typically happy to let them go to free up cash no player swaps
Our dimwits are that dumb we will probably release him and pay half his contract

Stuart played for the Bulldogs in 2000, then won an NRL premiership in his first year at Roosters as coach in 2002, but I get you think Gus was too long agoThink you’ll find Sticky was coaching lower grades at the Dogs or some such…
Gould was mid 80’s - so that’s not really relevant to how it works these days nor is it NRL
But I take your point…
Bennett and Fulton made a grand final in their first year as coach in the NSWRL, although Fulton did captain coach a bit the year before, and Smith made quite a few, but never won any, but you may be on to something about winning early onI don't know the exact figures but generally if a coach doesn't win a comp in their first 3 or 4 seasons then they never win one regardless of how long they coach eg Brian Smith or they find another job. Some major exceptions are Bennett 280 games coached before his first win in 92 and Cleary who coached over 10 years before winning one. Mal Reilly had coached 600 games inc CC in England before Knights in 97. Took Fulton 8 years. Lang coached nearly 10 years before lucking in at Penrith. Depends a lot on your cattle and luck rather than experience. Unfortunately our cattle are generally buffalo rather than prime angus. Stuart is a myth as a coach with a bang on 50 percent record.
???? How old are you ? Benji Marshall was hammered by fans in 2012 and 2006-2008 . I remember fans revolting on him big time with his no look cutout balls to the 5th row .Luke Brooks isn't Benji Marshall - I've stated than many times...
And when did Luke Brooks get passes on excuses?
(Because Benji suddenly needs one is it?)
And my biggest reasoning for Brooks was the rivers of crap he's been playing with - Benji didn't have that issue
just like Joffa the best chance you have in negotiating an offload or to free up space is to trade someone a team actually is interested in. If dogs can take a fair chunk if the 500k it is a good deal for us.Offloading Twal coming off his best ever season, with him adding extra elements to his game and being one of our few players who could be given a pass mark for the 2023 season is baffling ?
I understand he’s supposedly been given a contract which seems too big, but I can think of many others I’d be trying to get rid of ahead of him.
perhaps down the track Fainu can be a 7 and Galvin the 6 in 2025, otherwise can't see Galvin hanging around to fight out 6 with fainu at next contractEvery time the club has had a few years of success and even back in the Balmain days and Magpie days it has been when a group of very talented kids have hit the top grade at the same time. It is not unreasonable to think we are about to enter this phase.
Highly doubtful it will be next year, but 2025 could be the year the wheels start to turn. We have a lot coming through but the one I think will be an absolute standout is Galvin. Reminds a bit of a young Nathan Cleary, he never seems to be rushed and has a lot of footy IQ
100%!But they played for Wests Tigers, not Storm or Broncos. That they got one premiership is a absolutely monumental accomplishment at this club! That's to the moon level. So blessed to have that. Imagine supporting the team if we didn't have 05 and all the fun times with Benji
We won't, you can bet on it.With reports Alex Twal has now officially met with Cameron Ciraldo it would appear we are looking at granting him an early release to head ti the Bulldogs.
All I can say is we better be getting someone very valuable on return.
He coached the dogs 2001 flegg team that won the comp.Stuart played for the Bulldogs in 2000, then won an NRL premiership in his first year at Roosters as coach in 2002, but I get you think Gus was too long ago
Lee will give him a million a year for 5 very long years, now that's aggressive recruiting.I just hope its not luke Thompson...most over-rated player in NRL
I’m hoping it’s to create a spot for Xavier Willison from the Broncos. We need another tall, high impact middle & he’s at the age where he’s ready for bench NRL.We won't, you can bet on it.
@Yossarian from a few months ago, have you had an update on Willison? If Twal goes, could allow us to up the ante on Xavier.I hear Xavier Willison is heading our way.
Isn’t Galvin like 16? The kid won’t play first grade for a long time. Fair suck of the sav.perhaps down the track Fainu can be a 7 and Galvin the 6 in 2025, otherwise can't see Galvin hanging around to fight out 6 with fainu at next contract
100%. We can always cut fainu earlier if Galvin leapfrogs himIsn’t Galvin like 16? The kid won’t play first grade for a long time. Fair suck of the sav.
